Not good.
Depending on the day and time of travel, if you can check-in online and just do the fast bag drop.
That will give you extra time for the queue of people trying to persuade Security that "it's only a bottle of water for fu@ks sake!" or "who do you think you are, I thought we lived in a free country, bleeding 'ell", or "don't tell me what I can take, I paid for my 'holiday you jumped up little 'itler" ...
In short, allow yourself an extra 30 minutes to an hour to queue and get thru security - more if you want to argue with security for the fun of it :)
Hope that helps

When I last flew, which was to New York in 2006. We got up upgraded to business and cues were not terrible, but not great either. But when we went through security at JFK, it was a breeze. Not many people, one metal detector, but were all through in less than 5 minutes. |

I work in London Gatwick. Queues are very unpredictable there. Sometimes they are really short and sometimes they goo all the way around Zone A to the Trains! So my advice is to arrive for check - in at least 2 hours before the flight. If you don't have any bags to drop off and you have checked-in on line, still allow yourself at least an hour, to be sure. Remember to check what you are taking with you, whether there are any items that can't be checked in or taken on board, if your baggage weight is within airport / airline limits as all those things slow the process down, in case you have to rearrange / pay for excess kg etc. |

I agree with everything Phillip has said. I've stood behind those idiots for up to an hour.
Give him the 10 points. |

I flew two weeks ago from Manchester and the queues weren't too bad. They've relaxed the shoe checking so its just the normal checks. |

I fly very often and I think that it takes only 10 minutes more than before last summer, when things changed. |
