If your going to break your journey on the way,it depends on where you want a stopover. From an airline perspective,Singapore Airlines are probably the best airline in the world. |

I'd say Singapore. Great service for your money and, as has been said, the Singapore stopover is great. If you're there for more than 3 hours, you can get a free local tour. And the airport is wondrous. I love it. |

I've flown both to & from London. Singapore airlines are hard to beat & a stopover in Singapore is always worth it IMO.
Advantage of Emirates is you can stop twice - eg Dubai & Singapore & this makes it approx 3 x 7hr legs..
Also Emirates goes to Brisbane as well as Sydney & Melborne. |

Singapore Airlines has won numerous awards for its in-flight service. I have flown them and really enjoyed the service. You can check out the seat pitch and seat width on the major airlines on http://www.seatguru.com. |

I've flown long haul with both and Singapore is better in everyway. And you don't have the trauma of having to transfer at Dubai like you have to with Emirates.
I had a hellish time with Emirates. |

I would say emirates but only because its th only one i have flown by, i really enjoyed the planes, and with such a long journey u need a nice environment and good service you definately get this with emirates. and somenbody said about choosing singapore because th singapore stop is good but when i flew emirates i stopped at dubai and singapore so u get to see singapore with either airline. |

Both are top airlines along with Qantas, Qantas being an Australian airline it doesn't have the funds the others do, but it has an excellent safety record.
I would do with which ever is cheapest. |

For leisure purely, Emirates. They have newer aircraft flying those routes too. They also have bigger seat pitches (bigger seats and leg room).
PLUS at the moment they have a sale on. |
