I work for easyJet on the ground at Bristol on the check-in desks.
It is highly recomended that you arrive there 2 hours before departure because as others have been saying you really can not predict how long the security queues are going to be. Also there might be a long queue at check-in that you may not have anticipated.
We close check-in for flights promptly 40 minutes before departure and if your late i'm affraid to say your late and will have missed your flight. Should that happen a 'rescue fee' (payable to keep your ticket active as easyJet is a non-refundable airline) will be payable of £22.50
So all-in-all yes, deffinately arrive 2 hours before, as then you will more than likely be allocated boarding group A, which means you will be one of the first to be called up to board your flight and get better choice of seats as easyJet don't allocate seats.
Hope all this helps

Of course, but you might not get onto the plane straight away. |

it's more than okay. When I travel with easy-jet, I usually arrive only 1 1/2 before the flight leaves. |

Yes.
More than OK, I think 50 mins is their latest check-in before departure. |

I would think it would be ok, but call the airline to verify.
Where you run into trouble is when you arrive 2 hours AFTER your flight. |

Yeah. Especially if there's going to be a long line later. Then you have to go through all those long security lines/checks.
You should be early enough to give yourself as much time as you think you'll need. |

i dont live in the UK, but in the US you're supposed to arrive at least an hour before the plane departs, so it's just good practice to be early for a flight |

that's more than enough. An hour is the required time, though during rush hours that's a bit tight. |

That's lots of time. You only need to be there 1 hour before, but you never know, you could be delayed en-route to the airport, car accident, whatever, I always allow time for that and you have time for a cup of tea or coffee. |

In 2 hours you could be halfway there by train. |

Yes I guess so. But if your security and everything runs the same way as over here in the United States...then no. You should get there about 4-5 hrs early. It all depends on how long it will take you to get through secruity and all. |
