Most likely, yes. I've flown every Thanksgiving for the past ten years or so and the airports are definitely crowded. Although not as much so as I would have thought. I have discovered that later in the day on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is good (people are already at their destination). Also - the Sunday after Thanksgiving can be crowded (probably the most crowded day of the Thanksgiving travel holiday - people stagger their departure trip but everyone comes home on Sunday after). So if you can take Monday off after Thanksgiving it might make it easier, and probably cheaper as well. Unfortunately airlines also jack up the airfares for flights at Thanksgiving so planning ahead is helpful. |

Yep. Thanksgiving is always very, very busy. Double your expected down-time at the airport and plan on delays. |

yes christmas time is the busiest travel period for airports and thanksgiving comes in second
try to fly in and out of smaller airports if possible, try to book earlier days to beat the travel rush |

Thanksgiving is the number one travel holiday in the year, not Christmas....... so yes it is often packed. But if you get an early flight or a late flight it is usually much lighter. This is because people, particularly families don't like to fly at these times.
But even if it is packed just get there well before your flight, watch people and appreciate traveling and that you are not having to hurry. |

Believe it or not but my airport was not packed or overly crowded like you would think at Thanksgiving time. It was like it was any other day. I traveled the day before Thanksgiving, too. |
