Good ideas for long plane rides.? |
Hey, I'm going to be going to Ireland in a few months and this will be my very first long plane ride. I have a couple things in mind on what I can do but I don't know what else to to that can keep me occupied for a long time. The things that I know I'm going to be bringing are my iPod, a few mangas and a novel, a GBA with two games, and my sketch book. So, if you could give me some ideas that wouldn't cost too much, that would be great.
Other ideas that I need are good things to snack on. I was thinking about bringing trial mix and bottled water, but I would like more ideas, please.

Get sleep the time difference will kill you if you don't sleep. Went to London and we left Chicago at 4:30 local time and got to London at 6:00 AM local time and i got no sleep on the plane, so i was already tired when the plane landed in London, I went on till about 1 and i had to finally lay down and take a nap if you want to call it that. Anyway i would bring all that stuff but they have about 7 different movies on the plane you can choose from and you end up watching 2 full movies on the way there and 3 movies on the way back. |

forget about the bottled water! they will have plenty on the plane, and feed you too, but by all means take trail mix if you want..... If you are flying from USA, you will go overnight, so you could catch couple hours shut eye.
I always take too many books, wind up reading half a magazine and falling asleep |

A note book to write in, make notes or write letters home.
Word find books, and a couple of mechanical pencils, because they do not have to be sharpened.
Dried fruit, chex mix, a couple of bottles of water.
Call ahead to make sure that everything you're planning to bring along is allowed. |

well, first off dont bring the water! there are new laws that dont allow you to bring liquids onto planes. It seems as though you have all bases covered w/ what you're bringing. Make sure your carry on isnt too big! Remember to fully charge your iPod and have fresh batteries in your GBA. The books and sketch books are good ideas. Just remember pencils and what not. have fun on the flight! |
