Passports require a little time to obtain. Start by going to your Post Office to ask them for advice. Most Post Offices have a division that deals with passports. Take with you your birth certificate, proof of address, driver;s license, credit card statements, utility bills, etc for proof of residency. Passports are good for 10 years for adults and are a great identification when applying for employment. I think I paid $60.00 for mine several years back, and it took 12 or so weeks to get in my hands. Good luck with your travels and get this passport well in advance.

go to the post office

Post office is correct; however, better call ahead to ascertain if they only do it on certain days and/or hours like my PO does.

Also, if you belong to AAA, they will do your passport photo for free; PO charges extra for photos.

The post office should have the forms and everything. Also, there are companies that do legal documents like marriage licenses and passports. You may want to check the phone book for them.

Go in person to the post office and tell the clerk you need a passport application packet. You'll need a copy of your birth certificate. Go to the Department of Health -Office of Vital Statistics and get one. There's a fee.
Go to Walgreens or Sears to get three passport photos. Your packet will tell you what size you need your photos to be.
Your Social Security card.
Make sure you read your application carefully to add up all the fees necessary.
Fill out the application completely. Don't leave any blank spaces. If it doesn't pertain to you, just put "N/A". Non Applicable
Take everything back to the post office and make a money order there to turn in your application along with the copies of birth certificate,Social Security card, fee ,photos, and most important, your application.
The clerk will witness you placing everything in the envelope.
Make sure you have filled out the return address correctly to get your documents and eventually your new passport.
Just so you don't get shocked, the first time application for a passport, you're looking at about $200.00.

go to your local post office. That is where passports are issued or applied for.

You can go the the post office and pick up a orange form for passports ( not the purple one). You will need a certified copy of your birth certificate with a raised seal and your drivers lis. Also you will ned 2 pictures which you can gt done at walgreens for $7.99 (they do passport pis there). You turn everything into the post office with $97.00 and they send it out for you. You should get itn about 8 to 10 weeks.

The Mr. Pine
Most post offices have them. You need a photo and $100.00 when you mail it..

you need to get a photo id...which you can get at a wal-greens or travel agency...then you can go to the post office and fill out all the paper work and they can process that for you...atleast thats how it is at our post office. Happy traveling.

You can go down to your post office they have the applications will normally take the photos for you and cost about 90$ Get one whether or not you have a trip planned it's best to have that taken care of in advance so you won;t worry about whether or not you'll get it in time. Have fun and happy travels
