Yep. This is probably a wonderful example of the life cycle of a star:
*Start out not famous, but have a famous relative (Billy Ray Cyrus)
*Public appearance with famous person (she was on Doc once as a patient), a show starring Billy Ray,
*Audition for a TV show and make it (Hannah Montana)
*Show becomes popular; star (who happens to be able to sing) gets record contract
*Become popular singer, have lots of concerts, some song possibly played on mainstream radio ("See You Again")

And, of couse, the next stage is someone trying to kill the person (which, now that I think of it, once happened to Regan, but that was when he was President). And possibly, career descending into a Spears/Lohan-esque descent.

Either that, or somehow we'll have at least one former child star that doesn't turn out messed up by fame. Let's hope for the latter.

Saying the concert was "almost hit" is a major distortion of the truth - yes, it appears there was a teenage kid who premeditated doing it, but he was stopped before he could even get on the plane. Thats like saying someone almost shot and killed a dozen people because he walked past gun store and thought about buying a gun for a couple minutes.

Then there's also the practical considerations to take into account. According to the police the suspect teenager in the case had a pair of handcuffs, some duct tape, and an unspecified amount of string like rope. Lets make this clear ... this was a 16 year old teenage boy acting completely by himself with no weapons. Do you really think one teenage boy is going to be able to attack and subdue six adult flight attendants, and then somehow break into the locked and armored cockpit door, and then overpower the cockpit crew? There was a grown man just a month or two ago that got out of his seat and was making threatening gestures with a fork at a flight attendant and about a half dozen passengers tackled him to the ground. This kid had absolutely no chance whatsoever of effectively realizing his objective.

This is beyond the fact how would a 16 year old boy know enough to be able to fly a passenger jet -- I have a friend who is a commercial airline pilot and from what he's explained to me its not the easiest thing in the world to do. Its a lot more complicated than you might think -- it certainly not like a video game where you can just move a stick and push a couple buttons. And ... how on earth would he be able to find the concert arena in the first place to be able to hit it? Finding things from the air is pretty difficult sometimes, and then actually guiding the plane into it takes even more skill. Chances are 1) he wouldn't have been able to find the Hannah Montana concert, and 2) he wouldn't have been able to hit it.

What is disturbing is someone so young would have such a macabre plan ... good thing he was an idiot (or at least a bigger idiot than the people working for the TSA).
