Sure...they kind of suck, but they are cheaper. If you the kind of person that can handle being sleep deprived for a day, then the price savings is probably worth it. I think the younger you are, the easier it is to deal with a red eye flight. They are also often more empty so it may be easier to spread out and sleep. |

If you take one, make sure it is non stop. There is nothing worse that switching flights in the middle of a red eye...
I get through it by sitting in an exit row, tylenol PM or benadryl, and eye patch and a neck pillow.
Usually the Pilot/flight attendants will not make many annoucements to annoy you.. BUT on my last red eye we landed an hour and a half early ( strong jet stream) on the East Coast and we got a "wakeup" call. |

yes from Seattle to Nashville with a stop in Dallas/Ft. Worth, they are quite fun because the time seems to fly by a little bit faster than on a normal day flight |

Yes, I love them. Most of the people sleep, so you get a chance to relax and stretch out a little bit. Also, the stewardesses and stewards usually have time to visit with you, and it's fun to get to know them a little. |

Be prepared on redeyes, but that really goes for any flight that is longer than 4 hours. Always bring ear plugs and/or noise cancelling headphones, because babies are murder on your sleep. Most parents are pretty good at controlling their kids, but there are always some....Drink plenty of fluids, especially water and take your shoes off. Be certain to do some ankle curls and stretches so your legs don't cramp up. |

yes a few times. went from las vegas back to boston. left vegas at 11pm and arrived in boston at 7am. 3 hour time differance and a 5 hour flight. cheap way to come home. you need to sleep for a few hours on the plane or you'll be sleeping all day when you get home. |

Yes, west to east. I was a little bleary eyed the next day, but it was worth it to have a full day out west. I can also be a lot cheaper.
In addition, most trans-Atlantic flights are, in effect, red eyes. And it is worth the effort to stay awake until the local bed time, because you get over jet lag much more quickly. |

Yes- I like the advice people have given about sleeping, drinking water, nonstop flights, etc. but I have yet to be on one where I can stretch out, so it sucked for me! |

Yes !! I came back from Hawaii !! 6 hours in a cramped seat with a grey scratchy blanket they should have called a napkin !! The pillow I was given was so small I could have filled my sock and had a bigger pillow than what they provided !! I saw everyone in first class with huge blankets and pillows and their chairs reclined and they were roomy too !! Oh well you get what you pay for !!! |

Yes. Unless you can stay asleep in a cramped seat with engine noise, dinging seatbelt warnings, and passengers pushing up and down the aisle you will arrive in really beat-up fashion. And you will arrive very early in the morning (possibly 5AM when it is hard to get public transportation from the airport).
On the plus side you get a full day at the place you are leaving and a full day at your destination and usually a great price to make up for your misery. |
