Has anyone else had a nightmare booking a flight with Priceline? |
Okay, so I booked a flight with priceline and got a good price. The only problem is THEY booked my tickets for 2/17 instead of 2/16, and I have already paid $700 for tickets to the Daytona race on the 17th. Priceline says they can't do anything, that it was my mistake of course, and the airline says the changes can only be made through Priceline. Is there anything I can do? Can I get my money back through my credit card company or something? I don't want to waste $600 plane tickets, but I am not going to waste my $700 race tickets either!! What do I do???
Additional Details
I have called the airline (Continental) and they were very nice, but said that they could not make any changes to flights booked through Priceline. They also told me NEVER to use Priceline, because they have a lot of unhappy travellers with them. |

I have worked in the airlines for years. I have seen this happen so many times. I have also seen people with 4 connections and flying into the wrong airport. There is only 1 thing you can do and that is to dispute the charge on your credit card. If you really read the fine print on priceline, you have agreed to flexible dates. Airlines cannot change priceline tickets as they are "bulk" tickets. This means that they have no value to the airline. Priceline buys the tickets in a mass quantity and then sells them to you. The airline doesn't get your money priceline does. This is why they can't help. Good luck!! I always try and tell my friends, family, and passengers to avoid priceline. |

Sorry, I can't help you, just beware of Hotels.com also. I had a similiar bad experience with them. I was going on vacation and they had booked me for 5 nights instead of 7. I did not even know this until we had driven 6 hours to get to our destination and was checking in at the hotel. Luckly, the room was available for the extra nights and the hotel manager was sympathetic and gave us an even better rate for the other two nights. Hotels.com was very rude in handeling the entire situation and I was NEVER given an apology. Oh how p1ssed I would have been if I had to cut my beach vacation 2 days short because of a typing error! |

I'm sorry but your screwed. The fine print says it all, sorry! to use priceline you have to have an extremely loose itinerary, and lots of patience, but the prices are good. |

I think that you can exchange your plane ticket in with the airline for a different flight. I was on United and they did it for me. I had a similar problem with Expedia. |

THIS IS THE EXACT REASON why I say to ONLY book airline tickets through on of 2 places.
Either the official airline website or your local licenced travel agent. |

If there is any way to stop payment thru your back you should try that first other than that I would call priceline and continue negotiating.. you are probably out of luck here (sorry to say) you may have to pay an additional fee to get the flight you want.
If booked many tickets thru priceline and never had any sort of problems. Sorry! I hope that helps. Good Luck! |

You have to get your credit card company to get your money back. It is the WRONG date and you shouldn't have to pay for it.
This should not be a problem if you have a good credit card. |
