Has anyone had a decent meal on an aeroplane?

can you ask for more or choose what you like?

I had a nice scampi in 1st class on a domestic United flight in the early 90s.

In economy on an international Continental flight in 2006 I ordered a vegetarian meal (less demand = less mass produced = higher quality, in my opinion) and it was really good. It was a breakfast.

In 2001 on Jet Airways (domestic airline in India) they served Indian food (surprise, surprise!) and it was quite tasty.

But yeah, normally airline food sucks.

Once (Delta, Atlanta to Stuttgart in 1999) I asked for another roll and she gave me one.

You cant generally ask for more, but if there are extras, they will offer them to first class first and then offer to the rest. There are usually two selections for you to choose from and if you have dietary restrictions, you have to make note of that at the time of your reservation and those should be accomodated. I have acutally had decent pasta meals on United International flights.

many airplanes are cutting back on food for passengers. many now offer services where you have to buy dinner. Although it cost more for you sometimes the food isn't bad. I also saw a service where you can order food at a restaurant in the airport and have it sent to the airplane

Ive had some decent meals such as pasta, chicken, rice etc but i think in terms of manners its rude to ask for more i guess.

Great food flying to France last year. If they have extra they'll give it to you if you ask. Most domestic flights have stopped meal service because of costs. Lucky to get a snack or a soda these days. Some airlines are charging for snacks and beverages now.

Neil
Yes, many times. But whether I ever will again (other than what I bring on) is another story.

if you fly buisness class on international flights to europe then the meals are better
