Has anyone on here used American Airlines? Do you think they are a good airline?

I have flown american a few times. good food, instead of pretzels they give you tostitos( a nice break from pretzels) their major hub in Dallas/Fort Worth Airport is very nice and is well layed out, they even have a train system. It is a nice calm airport unlike chicago or JFK in New York.
they are not my favorite airline but they are my third favorite( they are still excellent though)
Even though I love american Southwest and Jet Blue top american.
As I said though american is still a great choice.

I've flown AA for many, many years. Overall, they are excellent.

They are good, but they are not great. I have flown with them many times and the service seems to be okay.

my grandama works for american airlines and i will only fly them. There excellent to me.

American's customer service is the worst of any airline I have ever flown. I take about 80 flights a year for business and I avoid AA at all costs. On the rare occasion that I do travel with them, if I happen to encounter a problem, it's never resolved to my satisfaction. I am not expecting the airline to drive me home from Dallas when the airport closes due to tornadoes, but at least make an attempt to get me to my final destination when the airport reopens, and try to be nice
about it. Their customer service folks are substandard.

I'm also not crazy about their fleet of aging McDonald-Douglas aircraft. These are ok for a short hop but for a longer trip (2 hours or more) they're a bit rattly and rickety.

When you compare AA to an airline like United or Delta, that has more modern aircraft (the Airbus and larger Embraers are very luxurious) and friendly customer service reps who really try to resolve problems, it's easy to see why I don't fly AA.

My mom is a flight attendant with American, so my answer just might be a tad bit biased, but believe me they're an awesome airline. I promise. They're the only domestic airline that has never gone bankrupt, and their earnings are up again this year.

yes they are one of the best in the world like that of KLM ,Virgin atlantic.put you should known that no one can be perfect there daily services can never be the same in terms of quality.

but they are the number one airline in the world in terms of total passengers-miles transported and fleet size, so they must be doing something right

My family and I have Always used American airlines when traveling internationally and never had a problem with it until sometime during spring break. They wouldn't let my mom go through transit without a Europe Visa, which makes no since because that's only if your going through immigration. My dad even talked to the manager and obviously she knew nothing about her job. my dad had to contact the Berlin embassy be for she could ever go. other then that one problem we had with the manager American airline is dependable on getting you to your destination. (even though sometimes you might lose your luggage).

If you read Conde Naste Traveler Magazine airlines in the United States are THE worst in the world the best airlines are the Asian ones and Europe is not too far behind United States airlines.
