Has your weedwacker ever NOT made it past airport security?

I can't check it. If I get stopped, what do I do?
Additional Details
Why is everyone so uptight about my weedwacker?

imokta,
Yes, I am being serious. I emptied the fuel. I cannot ship nor check it. With emptied fluids, I cannot start it up and trim peoples' heads, so I don't see what the problem could be.

You can try.

Even though you've emptied the tank of fuel, there is still fuel in the system and that fact alone may cause TSA to not allow it thru security or onto the plane.....

weedwacker in an airport?
what the fcuk?

dannytacoma
It has to be empty of fuel. That's a liquid and they'll confiscate it with your hand soap.

Who the hell brings a weed whacker on a plan or on any trip with them??? Well anyway id leave it at my seat, to not bring it with me so i am not a threat and then talk to airport security first about it.

JenJen
Hell no. I always have to Fed-Ex it ahead of time. Same thing with my pressurized water hose and pink lawn flamingos. They never let me take them either.

=(

silvir00
would that be a carry on or are you going to store it in the baggage area?

Helen B
Why cant you check it?? Im sure they wont allow it on the planeup front either.. buy one where you are going....

You should be able to check it as long as it is properly packaged, ie: sturdy cardboard box taped shut with proper labeling of your information. People check fishing poles, snowboards, and guns all the time.

Is there a reason you can't check it?

imokta
ok.....if your being serious,if your weed whacker is petrol then theres your answer..you cant take petrol in luggage, the only way you can do it is send it by cargo,it will cost a fortune so you may as well buy a new one when you get to wherever you are going.
even though you have taken out all the fuel it will still be classed as 'dangerous goods' which on its own will incur a surcharge for that reason alone. plus tax, duty, dangerous goods check!!

Gavin
what is a weedwacker?
