I think that Air Force One flies higher than civilian aircraft, therefor you can't see it.
If you would like to see what it looks like, watch "Air Force One" with Harrison Ford. Actually, not a bad movie... |

I haven't seen it personally but, my grandfather has. I don't know how, but I found pictures of him and my cousin in front of it. I asked him and he mumbled something. It was like a forest gump moment. |

of course air force one can land on a carrier, now of course, it won't be the 747's, but if it's an air force helicopter that the president is on, then by all means, it can land onto an aircraft carrier! remember, air force one is any air force plane that the president is on, which means, if ur an air force pilot flying a two seater and the president hops in and tells u to take him for a spin, then, u are AIR FORCE ONE! |

I have seen AirForce 1, Airforce 2 (boeing 757) and the C-130 transport that flies in before the president with his escort detail. I Actually work for the company that handles his flight on the ground while he is here. It is actually kinda plain looking, but still, you can't help but get a feel of patriotism when you see it. I have pictures of it landing, Taxiing and sitting at the gate with our equipment parked at it. When I worked as a dispatcher, I even had to talk to the secret service several weeks before the flight came in to give the names of the ground crew, so the secret service could do a check on them. NO BS.
FOR THOSE OF YOU SAYING THAT IT WON'T LAND AT LAX, I HAVE PICTURES OF IT HERE AT LAX, AND THE MOTORCADE PASSES RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY OFFICE ON IMPERIAL HIGHWAY. Although, last time he was here, he didn't travel by motorcade, he flew out of LAX to Brentwood by Helicopter. I have pictures of that too.
And to Anonymous, the helicopter that the president travels in is Marine 1 not Air Forece 1. |

As a photographer in the Navy, I was assigned to take photos of it for promotional purposes years back when it was a KC-135. Since it was classified, thats all I can tell you but it was a nice and well appointed plane. |

Yep, many times. We used to live a few miles from Norton Air Force Base in CA and whenever the president would visit So. CA he would land there and the flight pattern was right over our house. When we knew the president was due to arrive in CA we would take binoculars and look for Air Force One. |

Yes it was parked under my terrace. No I am not kidding, when Clinton was President,he and his family visited Saint Thomas
Us Virgin Islands. He spent 5 days there and Air force was at
the Airport on a side runway, cordoned off and guarded day
and night with flood lighting at night, my terrace was just overlooking that part of the Airport. It was an eerie sight. |

Yes, actually I saw it at the Sarasota, Fl airport on Sept. 10, 2001. The day before the attack on the WTC. It was very interesting to see in person. Obviously, it was very large and it certainly commands your attention. I would love to go on board sometime, though. I've seen several specials about previous models of Air Force One, and I'm definitely intrigued! |

Yes, back in 1992. George H. W. Bush was campaigning here, and AF1 flew over where I work as I was leaving. It was cool. |

it took off right over my house about 2 years ago in Springfield, IL. I also saw it sitting at the airport. and it was in Springfield again when I was at work and we watched it out of the windows. I have also seen it in Fairbanks, AK It is an awesome 747 |

Air Force One will fly much higher thank you think. You couldnt notice it even if you saw it. The only way you can see it is during take off and landing. Air force one will be taken off at a army base (it is actually a risk for people to see airforce one flying since it can be shot down with a missle gun) and it will land in a army base. IT wont land in lax or jfk.
Its a rumor though that Air Force one can land on carriers.
Also airforce 1 will land at a army base and the president will be taken by helicopter. If you see george bush walking down the staires of AF1 hes at a base. |

Yes, it was in Orlando International about two years ago and I was there when it landed. |

Actually, you are not very likely to ever see this plane up close. Simply because if an ordinary person might see it well enough to identify it, then a terrorist could get close enough to shoot at it with a weapon.
This is why this plane has a secret route, away from most public eyes, flies fairly high, and when it lands, it lands at the private sections of airports only, or uses military airfields for extra protection.
But I saw a Concorde up close once, now that was fun to watch! |
