My company flies us on business class and a few times I've been lucky enough to get upgraded to 1st class, most recently on Cathay Pacific to Asia. It's the only way to fly if you can get it. You're served champagne and hot appetizers when you board the plane and are always addressed by name, you have a full bed with down comforters and pillows and are given designer Shanghai Tang pajamas (which you can keep), designer amenity kit, four course meals with tablecloth (with lobster salads, steaks and caviar) and real silverware and China, 15" lcd tv, noise cancelling headphones, a private closet and unbelievable service.. The bathrooms are the same, but kept spotless and well stocked with lotions, colognes, razors and shaving cream etc.. It definitely spoils you, but the flight I took would have cost over $12,000 RT if I had to pay for it, something I would never do if it was my own money.

You don't have to be rich to fly First Class..upgrades on frequent flyer points helps.

I have flown First Class on JAL, El Al, Delta, British Airways, United, and American. On international flights, the food is better. Delta's food was atrocious. You have to understand that the food and service is not what it was before 9-11, due to the regulations on what can be on board. I remember the days of real silverware and champagne glasses. :-(

The lavatories are about the same, just less of a line for them.

The best part of First Class when flying domestic is the leg room and being able to board first.

My family flew from New York to Hawaii on United in 1988 in first class. This is because my dad flies a lot for his job so we flew first class for free.

The service was all right but the pampering wasn't as great as if you flew Singapore Airlines.

Bathroom was maybe a little bigger than in coach much it was still pretty small because the airplane only has so much space. If the bathroom is too big, then the aircraft cannot seat as many passengers.

Food served was your choice of steak or chicken. I chose the steak. It was all right considering it was airplane food but I have had better steak elsewhere.

Flying first class on international flights is much better.

Well, I haven't but my dad has when me and my mom were in Norway (I was a baby) my mom got sick so my dad got to sit in first class for the price of a regular class because the people felt bad for him and he loved it, he was on Northwest or Southwest Airlines he doesn't remember :D

Well the bathrooms are just like coach but reserved for first class so only first class gets to use them. Um you get better food and it for free where as in coach you have to pay for it. Let me just say that flying first class makes the flight 10x more enjoyable.

yes, two weeks ago, flying from chicago, i was bumped into first class.. united airlines.. it was awesome! more leg room, comfortable and bigger seats.. and the flight attendants are CONSTANTLY serving you and taking care of you.. the food is a lot better too.. the bathroom was the same though.. it was an awesome experience..

I will be in a few months on Air France. Thank goodness for miles =] Judging from the website, it looks quite amazing.

I've flown first class domestically (within the US) and although it's nice, it's usually not worth it to upgrade.

I'm in the travel industry and have had the opportunity to travel first class many times. The photos below are just a few examples of the first class cabin types that I've experienced. As you may expect, everything is top notch, from the service to the food. Hopefully one day you will get to experience first class service.

I will now only fly Business or First Class.
The leg room alone would get me back, but the seats or like heaven, super sized room for more than one person. Add the great service, start with a drink, wine or champagne, or just about anything else you could ask for! The food comes in several courses, and the treats just keep coming.
I have flown on Delta, Lufthansa, United, and a couple of others.
