Have you ever flown out of Dallas/Ft Worth airport before? |
We have to change planes there from leaving St Louis airport. We wondering how busy this airport is? We have an hour layover and wondered if it was as busy/big as say Chicago or Atlanta? |

about 800 times. If you are flying American (I'm sure you are, I don't think anyone else flies here from STL), you might be connecting to the next gate....or to the other side of the airport. You should get your connecting boarding pass in STL, and it should have the connecting gate on it, but as they say, these are subject to change, check the overhead monitors! If it's in a different terminal (entirely likely, as AA is in A, B, C, and D), there's an elevated train which will zip you there pdq. My suggestion: get to the next gate as quick as you can, and you *might* have a minute or two to go potty, buy a Big Mac, etc.
and big? Covers a bigger area than Manhattan (NY, not KS). Does that give you an idea? |

In addition to all of the other answers, I suggest taking food. You probably won't be fed on the STL-DFW, and depending on the length of your next flight, you may not be fed then. When we connected through DFW on AA before, we nearly starved because a large number of flights arrived at the same time with unfed passengers. Everyone made a mad dash for the food court, and if you were at the end of the line you risked missing your connection. Good luck. |

I have flown out of DFW and it depends on the airline you are flying with. American Airlines (AA) is headquartered there and operates the most number of flights. If you are flying AA and connecting through DFW then it depends because AA has 2-3 terminals it flies out of.
In Atlanta, you connect to different terminals by taking the underground train. At Chicago they have an underground moving sidewalk to connect between different concourses. At DFW, it is like a monorail/train system. Just make sure you get on the right one. AA has their own in which you use if you are connecting between terminals operated by AA. DFW has another shuttle if you are connecting to another terminal operated by an airline other than AA.
As long as the flight is not delayed, then you should have enough time. |

I've connected here a few times. I live in Atlanta and can safely assure you it's not as big as Atlanta. Didn't seem as busy either. You do have to use an elevated rail train to get from section to section. It shouldn't take the whole hour. Good luck! |

I've never flown out of there, but have connected there and always seem to have to go from one end of the airport to the other! An hour isn't a very long layover time, but if your flight is on time and you go right to your next gate you shouldn't have a problem. |

Yep...its as busy or busier than Chicago airport. Once you know which is your departing terminal, hop onto the Skylink train and go straight to the terminal. 1 hour does not give you much time. I am assuming your 1 hour is from the time you landed and the time your next plane departs.
Once you land you have at least 15 mins before getting off the plane to the terminal. If you are delayed..... just cross your fingers. |

Yep it's just as busy as Chicago. Just use their trains to get to your gate if they are far away from each other... I've only missed a flight once over there. It's easy to get around and there are plenty of people there to help you get where you want to go |
