If you're going to or from Atlanta, you pretty much have to use Delta. That's there "schtick" so to speak. Not a bad airline.
They're having financial trouble right now, but that won't affect your flying experience. |

yes they are okay cheaper tickets!!! and you will be okay! trust me |

Actually I'd rate them high on service relative to other US carriers, but still below Singapore air, etc. Clean and courteous. My trouble with Delta was that thier hubs always seemed to charge much higher prices than other options. For example, when I lived north of Cincinnati and flew relatives in from Dallas, it ran $400. However, if they then flew on to DAyton (30 inutes north of my house), the rate from Dallas (through CInci) ran under $200. Go figure. My point is Delta is worth using, just check surrounding airports (via expedia, etc) for possible lower fares. Take Care! |

Yes - they are about as good as any other American Carrier (i.e. United or American). Depending on where you are going, I would suggest (for the value) Southwest or if you can use them (limited cities) JetBlue which is a good value and a much better airline overall (despite the issues with delays in NY during a winter storm). |

In response to what another poster wrote about Delta not being on time....
According to DOT rankings they are currently #1 for ontime among all major US carriers, including Southwest and Jetblue, for the year.
Last year was bad for them, but this year they're doing great! |

As another answerer said, Delta is about the same as the other large USA airlines, such as American, Continental, and United. I prefer Delta because of their schedule (I live in New Orleans), frequent flier program (SkyMiles), and their airport members-only lounges (Crown Room), which are the overall best. They have also offer great deals to most locations (though sometimes Continental is better re. price).
Delta has been in a "protection from creditors" bankruptcy since 2005, as have other USA airlines in the aftermath of 9/11. Delta has announced plans to emerge from "restructuring" later this year, which is a huge leap forward as it means they have succeeded in putting the financial crisis behind them. Yes, there was a cost - but the alternative was probably a real bankruptcy (like Pan Am).
Meanwhile, the "restructuring" certainly did affect staff morale, particularly when things would go wrong - like weather-related flight delays & cancellations.
Also, I think Air France would not appreciate being described as a Delta "subsidiary", as it was by another answerer. Air France and Delta were the founding members of the SkyTeam alliance (www.skyteam.com), but neither is a subsidiary of the other. I have had overwhelmingly good experiences on Air France, and their Business Class lounges at CDG are outstanding! |

They are ok but they have a high number of flights that are not on time or delayed. |

In my opinion, Delta is no better or worse than the other major US airlines (United and American). Depending on where you are going of course, many flights change planes in Atlanta. I HATE the Atlanta airport. I have never NOT been delayed in Atlanta. Do not plan of arriving on time if you are changing in Atlanta. I am from Chicago, O'Hare is home for me. I know about airport delays. |

Delta has very nice service. They are a bit pricey, but I think that it shows in the service they provide. |

No. It was the worst flight ever. The attendants were rude, as were the people at the airport. The pilot was nice and they did show a movie, but other than that it was awful. I always fly Southwest. It is generally cheaper too. |

I would never, ever, ever fly Delta again. Worst service in the business. Especially their subsidiary Air France. Awful. The list of grievances is too long to place here. Don't fly Delta. |
