Have you ever travelled with the BMI Baby Airline??

've just booked out holiday and discovered that our flighs are with BMI Baby. I am a very nervous flyer and we have 2 young children with us - I have read some reviews and they all say this airline has constant delays due to technical problems with the planes because they are all really old knackered ones, also we have unasigned seats and it costs a fortune to assign them! I am now terrified and dreading the experience. Can anyone re-assure me this airline is OK? Should I assign seats? We cant all sit together anyway as only one infant per row is allowed - Please help!!!

Yep, I've flown with them with my 2 children, no problems at all. When we went they asked for all families with young children to go to the front of the queue to board the plane. That way you all get to sit together. They would not put youngsters away from their parents, but one adult may end up away from the rest of you. Anyhow, other passengers are pretty accomodating - I would always offer to move if it enables a family to sit together.
The planes were clean, modern and on time.
I am a really nervous flier too!! Don't stress out over these things, it just makes the whole thing even more stressfull. Enjoy your holiday.

I have used them many times and had no problems to speak of. All airlines have delays, BA was reported recently to be one of the worst. If you have young children they usually give you priority boarding so you can get seated together, the last thing the crew would want is a child separated from it's parent. Relax and enjoy

I flew with BMI Baby from East Midlands Airport to Glasgow International, last June. The flight was on time, the cabin staff were excellent. The snacks and drinks are reasonably priced and the flight went without a single hitch.
Don't read the hype and don't believe all you hear. BMI Baby are that good I am flying with them again from Birmingham to Glasgow in October.
I always assign my seats when I can and I recommend you do as well. That way you will know where you are sitting and won't get all separated up.

I flew with them a few years ago and my luggage was in an awful state when I got it. the bag was torn.

I fly regularly with B.M I. albeit between London/Edinburgh and cant recall any delays because of problems with the aircraft

Stop worrying! I've flown with them several times, to Spain, without any problems at all. The aircraft would not be allowed to fly if they were 'old knackered ones'
Enjoy your holiday.

I have also flown with them several times and never had a problem. Also, people with kids are usually allowed to board the plane first, so you should be able to get sits close to each other and not be spread out. Check with the airline to be sure.

Mr Mucus
I have flown many times with them and have found them to be as good as any, flight delays are the norm these days. They generally place children with their parents , for obvious reasons.

Flew them last year from Belfast to Cardiff and had no problems, get to the airport early and try to get seated near the back of the plane because less people like those seats and across the asile that way you will be in the same area. Think of them as a bus with wings a friend of ours who is a pilot for another airline says that if any of the bmi baby flights gets delayed there is a knockon effect and the last flight of the day CAN be quite late.

Hope this helps have a good holiday. BTW have the childeren suck on some hard sweets on departure and arrival it should with the popping of the ears.

The airline itself is fine, however don't be too surprised if you get delayed.

I went to Dublin last month, and, I got back to Heathrow 2 hours late and going out was well over an hour.
But to be very fair it was the last flight of the day and it was probably due to backlog from other flights!
