I have flown many times. It is a very comfortable experience for the most part.
Have you always been afraid of flying? Why do these thoughts keep going through your head? Do you know anyone that has had any experiences like these? You really should not be afraid. The things that you are afraid of are EXTREMELY rare.
Do you drive? Driving or riding in a car is much more common than any kind of airplane disaster.
Since it seems like you are already booked to go, make sure to have whoever you are going with talk you down. Take deep breaths, pray (if you are spiritual), and remember that flying can be VERY fun and it is quite beautiful to look down on the land below! Think of the fun that you are going to have on your trip... and how many millions of people fly all the time and have no problem.
Blessings! When is your flight? I will pray for you and yours that day. |

You should be fine think about the shear tatistics of those events occuring. People rutinely travel all over the US every day and you will be with other people. It helps to just bring a CD player or iPod or something to listen to and maybe something to read to keep you occupied and pass the time.
Oh, and bring ear plugs so that the bubbles in your ears aren't really painful!! |

There have been no fatal air crashes in the US since late 2001. |

THERE HAS NOT BEEN A HIJACK IN SEVEN YEARS....SECURITY AT AIRPORTS IS INTENSE...AND NO PLANE HAS CRASHED IN YEARS...IT IS BY FAR THE SAFEST FORM OF TRAVEL WE DO...JUST RELAX---IF YOU ARE REALLY ANXIOUS SEE YOUR DOCTOR FOR SOME VALIUM PERHAPS....IN TRUTH YOU HAVE LITTLE TO WORRY ABOUT |

well, driving takes more time, so i guess one way trains to and from your destinations, or just suck it up. air security has been tightened up ALOT since 9/11 so i could guarantee you will be fine, you will have to wait longer though because of this. |

think of how many flights depart and arrive each day. probably more than 150,000 flights every day. theres been one really bad incident and that was 9/11. plus the security is above and beyond protecting us. you have nothing to worry about |

I love flying. It's not scary at all. Just listen to some relaxing music and get a PSP. :) |

i always think the same thing.
but what i do is just know that everyone goes through airport security!
the crashing part--there are many life savors to keep you safe.
the main thing i do on a plane ride is to listen to my iPod or draw or read or color or even talk to someone sitting next to me.
it keeps everything off my mind.
have fun! and get tan! |

Security is very tight, before you can get on a plane, So I wouldn't worry about that, Then there are far more car accidents than plane accidents. Just sit back and relax and enjoy yourself. |

Think about how many planes are flying at the same time you are and they are just fine. There are literally thousands per day that take off and arrive with no problems what so ever. Take your iPod and a good book. Take a nap. Just relax, you'll be just fine. |

Sit in an isle seat so you cant see out the windows. Read. Take a nap if you can. It isnt really that bad. Maybe you will strike up a new friendship and learn something new.
Just look forward to landing and having a great time. |

well i had to fly shortly after 9/11 and i was scarred .. when i went the had army dudes everywhere and the security was so tight that it gave me a sence of comfort... by now they have got things pretty well under control .. if u were old enough i would say have a drink ..lol.. but if not try the window seat and just zone out .. after the first flight you'll feel better ... good luck |

haha..u remind me of meself...im 23 and 1st time i flew in an airplain was like 2 yrs ago..i was freaking out, especially cause it was just me alone..i went from california to utah to colorado just to visit my ex b/f cause he had been stationed over there.. i was just for a day i returned the next day...and believe me i had all these things in my head like the plane was gonna fall into the ocean or crash in a city... i started crying when it lift off and this lady next to me was telling me to calm down and that it would be ok... then the plane made this loud noise and i freaked out but i guess its normal for a plane to make noise..so yeah..i was scared cause i knew i still had to get another plane to get to colorado. but once i got off the 1st plane , it wasnt that bad the second time... it just that u have to face ur fear, once u do, u realize its not that bad.... IT WOULD BE BAD IF U KNOW THAT PLANE'S GONNA CRASH AND OUR DUMB ASSES STILL GET ON..LOL
JUST LET ME TELL U..A PLANE IS THE SAFEST WAY TO TRAVEL,,,NOW I REALIZ IT... ITS A FOR SURE SAFE TRAVEL...BUT I GUESS IF IT FALLS ITS ALSO A FOR SURE DEATH..LOL NO BUT..THAT WONT HAPPEN TRUST ME... IT ONLY HAPPENS IF SOMEONE MAKES IT HAPPEN... BUT AIRPORTS ARE SOOOOO STRICT NOW A DAYS U EVEN HAVE TO GET STRIP NAKED FIRST JUST TO GET INTO A PLANE |
