They don't sit with you, they just make sure you got on and someone was there to pick you up when you get off. And yes it's mandatory, so no one can claim you were kidnapped.
Have a good flight.

i believe it is mandatory but they dont like bug u, or "hold your hand" they just check on you then make sure when u get off the plane you know where to go and find your ride and stuff. |

It's best to have someone with you less nerve racking, since it's your first time, after that and your more experienced it's really up to you and how you feel.
Do they charge more for this service? |

It depends on the airline.
You should check the airline's policy about minors traveling alone. At your age some airlines will not give you the choice. |

i know I'm 13 to and i went to California by my self. i requested to be by myself and they said it was dangerous and forced me to be with the attendant. i know it sucks and mine was really mean! but just try looking forward to the trip and not the mandatory assistant watching your every move.
~GOOD LUCK!~ |

Most times yes but not always..... it depends on maturity. No offence but using text speak in writing puts you into serious kid land and this translates to everything else. Even if escorted they will treat you like a kid. |

probably by 13 you can handle it on your own.... |

I could tell you were 13 by the way you type. Way to speak English there. Fix that; its annoying to everybody.
Anyway, usually not on the actual plane, but at the terminal they will need to see you go with someone you know chosen beforehand. |

as what the previous post said, it depends on the airline.
if you're travelling with Singapore Airlines... here's what to note:
- it is not mandatory but your parents or guardian have to be at the airport with you to sign the form to decline assistance when you check in.
- if your parents or guardian are not with you, then it is mandatory because the airline would not want to be accused of allowing a minor to fly without his or her parents' acknowledgement... |

I believe you can't get on a plane by yourself unless you 16 or 17 or 18 |

What ladies? It would be nice if someone were to keep an eye on you though. You mean the stewardesses? If so, I hope so. There are alot of crazy people out there. Just be careful. and for real, don't talk to strangers. |

Stewardess would look after you. :) |

no its not mandatory to have one of the flight attendents look after you. but i'm sure you would like to have one just to make sure that you are okay.
besides since you are a minor they will have someone just check up on you from time to time. |

man...you must be real lucky to ride on a airplane by yourself at age 13..my parents would never let me do that...Im sure it will be manatory to have someone with you..considering how young you are |

Go to the site of the airline that you are riding on and check their guidlines for minor passengers flying by themselves. |

it's a choice. My friend who is 13 just went to N.Y. and they told her that her age was the age that could choose if you want a lady or not. |
