yes its a great job if you like to travel the best highs are the free flights and the buddy passes for your relatives and the worst lows are when you first get started you get the low end flights and basicly no steady sleep for a while |

I am an F/A- been on furlough for two years but got my recall to return. So I can only answer as to what it was a couple years ago? It is fun- lots of cities to see- people ask you all kinds of questions about your lifestyle- cause you are still seen as "glamourous" The truth? You live in a 2 bdrm apt that you share with 9 other people- you are on call 24 hours a day- you have to listen to really mean people on the plane who think you are trash- you are away from family and friends alot-
BUT the perks? After putting in some time- you WILL get your own apartment- you will NOT be on call 24 hours a day- you will work less and make more money and you will travel to many great places.
Overall- if you are willing to put in the time- you will love it!! |

Well the first rule is ... perfect fluent English... they are not called "air steward" they are called flight/cabin attendants :) and second u have to be a good swimmer, not having any visible tattoos or piercings, be at least 5.2" and at most 5.9" of height, weight must be proportionally, must have at least 20/100 corrected vision (although in general u fail the medical exam if u have an eye condition) and would be a plus to be a second language speaker and there are some few condition imputed by any other airline, for example United Airlines requires u to be at least 21 years of age while other airlines start the recruiting from 18.
