A Flyer
Hello there,

First of all, ask yourself how long do you want this job as a Flight Attendant. Many of my friends skipped school to "fly for a couple of years to see the world" and say they'll continue with university after that but end up flying for 10 years!

As most airlines are expanding rapidly due to increasing demand for air travel, the Flight Attendant occupation is becoming more respected and recognized. Some airlines even have schemes wherein a graduate starts off as a Flight Attendant but gets a "fast-track" promotion to become an Cabin Crew Exective, Manager, etc.

Many airlines do not permit you to have a second occupation while you're in their employment because of flying schedules (they can be pretty hectic) so full time studying is out of the question. However, the Flight Attendant job gives you free time overseas with which you can use for part-time studies.

Since you're already a full-time student, my suggestion is: Take your time and finish your education; it'll give you an edge during an interview/open session. Believe me, there'll be many more opportunities in the future.

Hope this helps!

Aud

you cannot be a full time student as well as a full time flight attendant.

If it was a seasonal thing maybe. I don't know how you could remain a full-time student and travel, especially internationally. Consider your priorities and take it from there. Good luck.

Well you might miss a lot of classes if you're on a long flight, especially when you figure in stopovers and return flights.

If you are a full time student then ,how could you work as a flight attendant, where you may have to go for few days each time your duty starts. why would one offer you a job, until and unless you applied for it. Also flight attendant's job is not as glamorous as it looks like. Its almost like a bus conductor;s job.

I work as a flight attendant for bmi and the hours you work would really run you down as they are very long. also you never know what can happen, the amount of times Ive been stranded abroad due to technical or weather problems has been silly. Personally i would stick with uni as flight attendant wages are really bad and you will still have your qualification. Once you finish uni then go for it. It isn't as glam as everyone thinks

MISS-MARY
How can you be a full time and then fly all over the place too? It's decision time isn't it? Makes it hard to choose but, if it pays good and you can do on line studies or video maybe you can do some education at the same time. Good luck.

It would be very diffecult my mom considered doing that but she wouldn't ever be home to take care of the kids. They get long breaks but when they are working they work alot. Its alot of hours and you will be out of state alot

No way, flight attendants travel everywhere and it would be very difficult to stay in one place where you need to study.
You need to choose whether study is more important than this job.
A flight attendant is a very high paying job, and it's very hard to get a position as one. If you get it, well done. Otherwise, stick to studying.

yes you should take it talk to your employer and start part time or on call attendent and if you like it go full time on job and go part time on your studies so you will have money and you will finish your school to , you wont be broke on your graduation :
