If you want a specific destination then really you need to book in advance, but if you just want a holiday and not bothered where, I would wait as you could get some real good late deals. |

Booking last minute.
there are sometimes cancellations and flights/packages can cost next to nothing =)
have a nice holiday! where're you going?

it is cheaper to book late but you take a chance on where you go and when you travel
there is also a chance there wont be any late deals like last year
my advice would be if you know where you want to go book early so you get the choice of flights resorts hotels etc |

Last minute (but you get less choice) |

If it's a package holiday then usually they're cheaper last minute, though you may have little choice. The package holiday companies have already paid for the seats and the accommodation, so they want to offload any remaining and get whatever they can for it.
If it's flight only then usually they're cheaper in advance, especially the low-cost airlines. If you turn up at the airport hoping for a flight then they know you're likely to be desperate for anything and the price is higher to reflect that. Plus, any cheaper tickets have already been sold. |

Neither.Pay attention to the price from time to time.Once it's low, book it. |

I hear booking at the last minute is cheaper with some businesses.
Ryan Air, for example, sell unwanted tickets at a cheaper price at the last minute
Well, not last minute, that would be impossible to book the flight and get ON the flight in one minute. but you get the idea. lol |

Having been a travel agent for the last 5 years years I can tell you there is no guarantee either way. the best advise is to book what you like when you find it. Prices go up and down depending on demand so if you see something you like book it there and then if you don't you'll most likely have to compromise on the holiday you want.

Six months out is usually good. Last minute, expect to pay high prices. |
