Besides, tissues have a tendency to swell in the plane when it reaches cruising altitude. You would be VERY uncomfortable.
AND I have checked with medical professional sites and there is NO cast for the head. A cast is up only as far as the base of the skull. If the head neads further stabilization, a halo is applied and you would not be able to board a plane with a halo.
