You can buy more once you get through security. I am not sure if this is a security procedure or just a scam to get more people to spend ridiculous amounts of money on airport refreshments! |

I believe that only pertains to you taking liquids over 100ml through security. Once you are on the other side, you can purchase drinks of just about any size... |

You should be able buy some food and beverages once you have passed the security screening points once you pass passport control. |

You can purchase drinks airside. You are only allowed 100ml of liquid through security. Once through security, you can buy as many drinks, liquids, and gels as you want. |

You can actually take more than 100ml of "liquids" through the Security check, contained in your maximum of 1 litre plastic bag. You just have to have containers in that bag which contain no more than 100ml each.
I'm sure you will manage on 100 ml for the 15 minutes or so, that it takes to go through the security checks at Customs Control and you can drink yourself silly before going through Customs and once again in the Departure Lounges.
Should you need to carry more than that for Medical Reasons, you will need a letter from your doctor confirming that you need continuous re-hydration.
Don't forget that the main contributory cause of death of the guy who died running the Marathon was "that he had drunk too much water"! |

you can buy drinks in the departure lounge as they have been security checked, you just can't take more than 100ml through security yourself |

It is all part of their seedy plan to make you buy, buy, buy more cosmetics, drinks and goods from them at inflated prices.
All this "anti terrorism" talk is a load of bullsh#t.
With delayed check in times as well they want you to be hungry, thirsty and fed up so you spend more money at the airport. It is the same with their parking fees and not allowing people to be dropped off at the airport doors.
Did you know at Stanstead Airport (spit) they charge you £20 if you park for one second over an hour when you park your car!!!
Go by train or ferry, you still get a bit of decent customer service there. |

The rule is you can not go through the security check point with more then 100ml of a liquid, there is nothing that states you can not bring an empty water bottle through the security check point and then fill up the bottle on the other side. That is what I do and I fly around 10 to 15 times a year. |

Survive? Once you are through security you can buy a drink there. Anyway...people survive on less liquids a day than that.. |
