Call your airline and find out if you can bring it with you onboard, in a cooler, packed with dry ice around it to keep it frozen. The only other way would be to get it professionally packed for you in dry ice and then check it through as baggage and hope for the best!

dry ice, but I don't know how it should be packed or what the airline would do with it--maybe in a cooler as a carry on?

You'll have to pack it in dry ice. Available at a lot of grocery stores these days. Check the yellow pages: Dry Ice.

Check w/your airline. I believe you can pack a secure cooler. It has to be packed as luggage tho. So I suggest you freeze it solid and pack it with styrofoam peanuts and dry ice.

Check w/your airline on everything!

Also you can Ship it with FedEx. They can't pack it for you, but if it's secure and packed up, they'll ship anything. Call 1800 GoFedEx for specifics.

cut it to smaller pieces and put in blister box, hold them when fly. I guess the cake is big.

rachel
well... pack it in one of those small portable coolers with ice surrounding it... not as a carry on though.. because it might turn to liquid (the ice), and they might make you dump it out, and that could just get messy!!

Alex
Hmmmm... I would perhaps ask them to keep it in a refrigeration unit, if possible. Depends on the airline policy.

ask the capn' to use a freezer? Oh wait, they might not let you bring food on the plane. They wont if its to a different country, not usually. Seeing as its only 4 hours, id just ask. Bring a cooler or ask to use one of theirs.
~good luck! and congrats :)~

turn on the AC on super high =)
