You can't. When your fellow passengers all turn up on time to the gates instead of fuffing around in the duty free area, then perhaps there could be some hope.

When you find out let me know but you could try delivering the in flight meals (from gate gourmet) personally, eliminating the terrorist threat - again on your own and getting French air traffic controllers to sign non-strike clauses in new contracts.

Don't fly out of Heathrow. It is one of the world's most congested airports. Most shorthaul BA delays are rotational i.e caused by earlier delays and this is exacerbated by unrealistic schedules and turnround times. By all means follow the other posters' advice and get all the passengers to the gate on time, but if the aircraft only arrived twenty minutes before it is due to leave again then it ain't going to go on time.

Gatwick is less congested, but starting to come under similar pressures to Heathrow.

The best way to have on time flights is to go back in time to the days when the aviation industry was heavily regulated and subsidised, when airlines didn't have to wring every last flight hour out of their airframes to stay profitable and airports had about half the traffic they do now. Mind you, you would pay a lot more for your ticket.

In many ways the service we receive from airlines nowadays is what we deserve. Customers put such a premium on prices that they force airlines to start cutting corners, laying off staff and setting unrealistic schedules. All IMHO of course....

You could wait by the check in desk, gathering all your fellow passengers, Proceeding to handcuff them from one to another (Tho plastic ties might be better for metal detectors)

THen once they are all there, drag them all staight to the gate, no shops, no food! JUST ON THE PLANE!!

Not sure that this is legal, or will even work mind!

If people like yourself who fly with BA get to gates on time and spend less time in bars and in airport lounges making up excuses that you were never called then airplanes would depart on time.
