Cruiseliner?

Cargo Ship that takes passengers? (need to contact shipping line that uses a UK west coast port)

Or buy your own boat, if money is really not an issue!

A cruise liner if you don't fancy swimming! Alternatively train to France, walk/cycle/drive or train to Asia, make your way to the Beiring Sea up north, swim/boat across to Alaska, down through Canada and into the U.S.

A lot quicker to conk yourself out on a plane and just arrive there but each to their own.

Queen Mary 2 sails from Southampton to New York every 2 weeks. It's less than business class airfare too!

Apart from the QM2, there are a number of cruise companies that send ships across the Atlantic between the Caribbean (winter) cruise region and the European (summer) cruise region. These trips are called "positioning cruises", since they move the ship to a new position for the next cruise season. They typically last about 2 weeks and do throw in a few stops en route. Some of these cruises will go to the UK. However, they are usually only available in October or November to go over to the USA and April or May to come back.

Cunard, they have a sale on at the moment too. I'm going on the Queen Mary 2 in May over to NYC, the ship stays one day and then returns. I'm sure you could get a one way/return ticket.

Cunard has transatlantic cruises from southhampton to New york.
