Next time you fly try joining the mile high club you will never have to worry about jet lag.

One of the best things you can do to prevent jet lag is to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!! Flying is very dehydrating to your body, which can exhaust you. Drink plenty of water before, during and after a flight. I usually drink 1 liter for every 2-3 hours of flight time.

When flying to your destination adjust to the local time straight away. On your return, try to get used to your usual time as quickly as possible. Try not to give in to sleep. Jet lag doesn't usually last more than 24 hours at the most. If you do need something to help you sleep to adjust Melatonin is a useful substance to have. Good luck.

I bought some Melatonin from the health stores before we went to Australia earlier this year, I slept like a log on the plane and suffered very little get lag.

Try working a week of night shifts - jet lag will be a walk in the park.

There are certain tips given to cope up with Jet Lag. Good Luck.

There are several techniques for this. Different things will work for different people. Here are some things I do:
- Simply suck it up and either stay up or go t bed in the new time zone as though you were at home. I sometimes do this but I travel a lot and my body now makes the adjustment fairly easily.
- if you are going to arrive in the day time or morning hours sleep on the plane (maybe a little nyquil or tylenol PM could help).
- begin the adjustment about 1 week before. Adjust your wake up and sleeping time by about 2-3 hours prior to the trip.

If I am taking a Transatlantic flight I change the time on my watch and mobile as soon as I get on the plane. This way I can fool myself in to thinking that I am already on that time. It is amazing how you can actually fool your brain.

Try to sleep on the flight if you can (about an hour is enough usually for me, avoid heavy food and drink lots and lots of water.

When you get back do the same. It is easy to want to sleep as soon as you get home but try and last as long as you can and as near to your normal sleep time as possible. It can be done and it always works for me and my husband.

Good luck!
