They talk about sex, past conquests, who they'd like to shag, who the best hostie is, how much they spent on booze last weekend. older pilots talk about airshows, shares and property prices.

Read or talk to their fellow pilot. Normally cockpits go "sterile" which means no non flying talking below 10,000 feet.

island girl
I think you'll find Captain R is correct on this one....although the older pilots still talk about the same stuff as the younger ones so it would seem.

I have been flying since I was 2 weeks old... twice a month and every flight as far back as I can remember, I have actually seen them walk down the aisle and talk to passangers and flight attenents!

Air Travel XPERT!
Long haul: Alternate turns why other one sleeps in first class! Or gets dvd player and takes it into cockpit.

Drinking booze and smoking Pot...then inviting the Stewardess into the cockpit....how else did that area of the plane get its name!

The Drunken Fool
I dont think they get bored. There is still a lot to do even when you arent actually flying the plane. Here is a list of things pilots do when not flying the controls

Scrabble
Sudoku
Eye-Spy (not very interesting)
Ker-plunk
Sorry
Ludo
Monopoly
Paper-scissors-stone
Tic-Tac-Toe
Subbuteo
connect four
shadow theatre
Impersonations of tommy cooper
drawing on the other pilots face when they are asleep
putting their rounded fingers up agains their eyes and pretending they are Biggles.
Singing the theme to the Dambusters
Miniature Boules

Pilots have a lot to do up there in that little room!

joseph b
he takes a walk in the park or the krap rack(anagram)
goes for a brace and bit
takes out his knitting casts off an all that
a game of cards with the co

Big Alec
They probably catch up on a few zzzzzzzzzzzz's.

Dee Cee
They talk a walk, or clean the windows outside.

Astaroth
Walk up and down the fuselage farting as you cant open a window at 10,000 feet
