You can bring:
Mp3players
handheld consoles
laptops
IPod
But power/battery life may be an issue. See www.seatguru.com for details.
But really, a six hour flight is no big deal. |

you can bring all those things that you just listed. except they make you take them out at the security check to make sure they are safe.
also you cannot use the electronics during takeoff and landing. but during the flight you can use it, which is still 4-5 hours.
Also I usually find that the movies on the long flights are pretty good, they are usually still in theaters and pretty popular, so if you can find a good movie thats 2 hours gone.
well if you like reading, bring a book, but i think you will find that boring.
im sure you arleady do this, sleep on the plane kills alot of time.
basically bring your laptop, it should have 3 hours of battery and you can do anything on there. music, movies, games. |

how funny! one of your "answerers" said to bring a laptop and watch movies in some funny website. Well here's the thing, if you deliberately use any device which would send out signals despite the fact that you will be warned by flight attendants, then the most probable tendency is that your pilot will loose his communications with the local tower since your device is interfering with their communication. If you are very unfortunate, then this might cause the entire plane to be plunging from an altitude of 45000 ft into the open Indonesian sea.
Now that's something that would make you would rather spend your 6 hour flight being bored to death.
But, here's the good news. Any flight from the Philippines to Australia (most probably Qantas, Philippine Airlines or Singapore Airlines) would have an onboard entertainment amenity. You would be entertained by a wide array of songs, movies, games and meals. If your a small kid, they'd even give you freebies. First and business class guests tend to have better amenities but those on the economy accommodation would still get through the flight with your personal television screens for movies or video games.
You may also hand carry electronic devises such as MP3 players, laptops, consoles, I pods and the like provided that they do not interfere with the pilot's control (for cellular phones, they must be turned off and for laptops, they should have no internet access) and that all electronic devises should be turned off during take-off until 10-minutes until take off and during landing and pre-landing periods, so you'll survive the flight.
I even travel 26 hours in planes ENTERTAINED. (the first class amenities help a lot though :))
So, have a nice flight and Bon Voyage.
P.S.
In case you would have a terrible flight, your destination, the Philippines, would make up to it. I promise. :) |

Okay, from my experience from going on business trips, you CAN take a few of those things on to the plane.
I usually take a few things:
1. Laptop to finish some of the work that need to be done for a presentation or something of that sort. (Usually lasts around 3.5 hours)
2. Head/earphones, because I have the music on the laptop already. (Kind of links in with the first)
3. A good book, something that will keep me occupied. (My reading span only lats about 1.5 hours)
4. Nail file, just to kill the last 10 minutes of the flight :) |

I'm not sure which Brisbane you mean but if you mean California, you can check this site for what items are now allowed on flights (they tell you which you can carry on and which you can pack in your luggage and the few you can't bring at all): tsa.gov.
When not eating, you can watch the in-flight movies, listen to the airline's radio station or check out their SkyMall catalog or other reading materials (they usually have magazines and newspapers available), other than that, most people sleep. Otherwise, you can bring a novel, puzzle books (sudoku, crosswords, etc.), play solitaire, etc. if electronics you own and want to bring are not allowed. |

Try looking at weird newpapers and magazines and if you like drawing take some pencils. Other than that try to remember about good times. |

they let you take out electronics at a certain point.
maybe about 5-10 minutes after takeoff.
they also have touchscreen tv that have other features on them too.
it depends which company your flying with though.
but im sure they would let you use electronics. |

I've brought all of the above on planes from Europe to the US & back; they just ask that you not use them during takeoff/landing.
Otherwise, if you're going it solo, sudoku and a good book. If you've got a friend with you, one of those travel backgammon/scrabble/etc is always fun.
Or, you could get a good sleep in. |

I'm very pretty.
The best thing to pass time is to bring along a portable DVD player and a couple movies. And a couple books. Start off by reading. You'll soon get tired. Pop in a movie and you might actually finish it. Pop in the second and you'll probably get tired. By that time you can close your eyes for a while. Then repeat.
Make sure you get up once in a while to stretch your legs. |

I'm weird, ugly, and cute!

I sleep. |

Why do you need all that stuff? I've been on a 10 hour plane ride, mainly I just watched the movies provided and played video games. Also, time to eat and get up to go to the bathroom. Sleep.
I get really nauseous on plane rides so I'm also on gravel the whole time and can't really concentrate. |
