when your on a plane sit by the window so you can see out and turn the air vent on over your head so it blows on you and try to sleep or listen to music.. Once you get on the plane you will feel better than if you were driving a car. no stress and safer. |

It's really not so bad. Take off can be a little scary for some and for others aircrafts can be imposing in general. But i for one am fascinated by planes. Anyway, i doubt you'll have panic attack.
Suggestion:My mom doesn't like to fly, she's very claustrophobic (we recently went to Chicago with a stop on Denver from Los Angeles) she took two Tylenol Pm's right before boarding. After getting settled and before takeoff she was quite relaxed. About half an hour into the flight she was sleeping. |

It's nice to be on a plane...don't think too much & read a magazine or listen to the music to ease your mind...that way you won't have panic attacks. |

No, you wont.
It is much like a movie theater... or do you have panic attacks in movie theaters?
Movie theaters give you about as much leg room/chair width and they are both nice to sleep in. |

Thats based on the individual however you are in a confined area that you cant get out of though depending on the size of the plain you are flying on you do have room. Its not like and elevator or anything. There are also pills that can help. |

i love flying and have no fear at all, if you like roller coasters you will be fine but i don't like roller coaster's and i love flying, and if your claustrophobic i suppose it would depend on what sized plane your in. but there is two problems with flying:
1,turbulence:there nothing really, but i know people who get really scared, but generally they are very tame and only last for like a minute max.
2, boredom: long haul flights can be very boring and i recently went to south africa and it was a very long flight 12 hours, but most larger planes now have tvs in the seat backs with a variety of movies so you don't get to bored.
like i said i love flying and so do my family, my sister doesnt like landing because it can sometimes be a bit bumpy but ive only ever had 1 bumpy landing.
i hope this helps |

Its kind of like being in a car except for the take off, turbulence
(if there is any turbulence) and the landing. You might want to
get an aisle seat if that will help with your claustrophobia. It
really isn't that bad at all. I know a few people who take those
tension balls that you squeeze they say that helps. You might
even try to sleep most of the way. Hope this helped a little.
Good Luck. |

yeah that happends a lot. the seats are very crowded i suggest u sit on the aisle seat incase you feel like you cant breath u atleaast have room to feel better! put the air on and listen to music or watch a movie! take your mind off the whole flying thing! n enjoy the movie! |

I LOVE PLANES! i been on them loads of times since i was a baby. You might see loads of horrible news but dont worry thing of the odds there is 1 plane crash 6/7 years so thing of the odds the staff are trained. So there is nothing to worry about. |

its like being on a train. smaller windows and you will notice the change in pressure on your ears.
dont panic unless the plane starts to crash, then feel free to scream |

nah, dont get totally freaked out coz its not scary. the plane makes a loud buzzing noise but u kind of get used to that. anyway just think of gud things. good luck. |

You can if you try to.
Or you can practice learning to relax, or take medication. |

Try to make your first flight with a pilot. They can tell you what all the noises are. If you r claustrophbic a plane probably would not be your first choice but it isn't like being trapped in a closet |

You should be fine. You could talk to your doctor about it and they can prescribe medication for you if you are worried. We had to do this for my daughter when we traveled to Florida. |

flyin on a plane is awesome i use to be scared. the takin off bit is cool, just concentrate on ur breathing and think of nothing else when it takes off and lands and u should be fine and in between takin off and landin find a book to read or play cards with someone to take ur mind off things |

Think of it as being a big bus - because thats kind of how it feels - but when you look out the window there's no traffic!
I have not really been a great flyer, but by doing it more, it's not bad - I bring a couple magazines, my laptop, ipod and a pill from the doctor and I do fine. A doctor will perscribe something for you if you are prone to panic attacks. |

They should outlaw those things. They kill people. |
