two hours is a safe bet, depending on what day/time your flight is.
You never know how long the check-in lines or security check lines will be!! |

Well if you are on a popular flight on southwest be sure to go within 2 hours since they will sell your ticket if you don't get there and give you no refund. I almost didn't get on a flight home and I didn't have enough money to buy a new one. I don't fly sothwest anymore, but it also depends on the size of the airport and the time you are flying. If you are flying at a small airport at 4:30 am I think that geting there at 3:00 is fine, but at 8:45 am on saturday you better get there early. So I would advise two hours unless it is a weekday and early in the morning, where one hour and thirty minutes before. |

Depends on the airport.
Last year I went to Vegas and the person at the ticket counter said, the ticket will say two hours, but 45 min is plenty.
Depends on the airport, and how well you know your way around it. |

domestic USA? 1 hour before, less if I've checked in online already and am not checking a bag. International, probably 90 minutes. |

2 hours earlier, but I guess it all depends. Ex: If you're going around a holiday or break, go earlier because more people will be at the airport and there will be more chaos.
Like right now, spring break is going on and so there are probably a lot of people at the airport becuase this is 'traveling season' |

I think this depends on a couple of factors: 1. What airport/how many terminals does the airport have? 2. What type of flight are you going on, international or domestic? 3. Is it a busy/full flight? Are you traveling with anything that could be questionable/need further inspection by TSA?
If you are going to a regional/local airport where there are only 1 or 2 terminals, or there aren't any international flights that leave that airport, then 1 hour is probably sufficient, unless you know it is a booked flight, then you would definitely want to give it 2 hours.
Also, if you are traveling with electronics or medical equipment that TSA might question, give yourself more time. The New MacAir book is giving TSA quite a headache, as they are unfamiliar with it. Also, if you are taking a nebulizer or other medical equipment, they may question that as well.
If traveling internationally, go at least 2 hours early. The larger airports will take plenty of time to get through any terminal, and then if your gate is far away from the security point, you will want the time to get there.
Are you traveling with kids? This can cause an extra hassle, especially if they are on formula/breast milk, so make sure you have these pre-labelled, etc.
For extra tips, check out TSA's website. |

I live in a big city so I give 2 hours but check your airline and see, the best bet is 2 hours so you can get through security, and all that stuff. |

I do not recommend this, but last week I was able to get on a plane in Mobile, AL after arriving at the airport seven minutes before takeoff! The point is that not all places are the same, if that had been Dallas there would have been no chance. So, if you know your airport and are familiar with the procedures and parking, give yourself a 30 minute window for delays on top of the fastest time you think you could get through the desk and security checkpoints, why spend extra time in an airport? That is what layovers are for... |

Depends on where you are flying.
If you are traveling outside of the United States, you should be there about an hour before the flight leaves. If the flight is international, you should definitely give yourself two hours. Just in case there is some sort of delay checking in, getting through the metal detectors, etc.
My parents and I usually go to the airport two hours before, no matter whether we're flying international or domestic.
I hope you have a great time!! |
