How early should I get to the airport?

You need to get there at least 2 hours before your flight, but if you are getting there on public transport (train) I would schedule an extra hour into your journet at least in case of delays. So you should get your train about 9am. That will give you your 2 hours train journey time, 2 hours at the airport and a spare hour for unforseeable delays.It's far better arrive early, you can always get a coffee or something to eat while your waiting.

Not sure if Sharm El Shaikh is classed as long haul travel, if it is you have to be at the airport 3 hours before to book in, if its classed as short haul then its two hours before hand, we went to Cuba in March from Manchester airport the the queues were really long, its a good job we were there 4 hours before instead of the 3 we were told to be, have a great holiday.

Leave 5 hours before the flight leaves, You'll have 3 left over. Bu the time you check your bags, find your gate, it'll be 1 hour.
You have 2 remaining hours to eat something, do some airport shopping and relax without worries because you're already there.

You must always arrive at check in at least two hours before your flight - bearing in mind you are travelling by train I would aim for a train that gets you at the airport three hours before your flight

2 to 2.5 hours should be enough so that you are not rushed, regardless of any unexpected suprises that might occur.

aim to get to the airport 2 hours or more before your flight is due to take off, i would rather be there earlier and wait for my flight (do shopping us girls love that) rather then be late and miss out on a great holiday.

No matter what airline your suppose to reach 2 hrs before the flight, so you should leave out 4hrs before the flight so that you can get there ontime

i travel long haul a lot - my trick is to arrive early.
most airlines particularly charter have one check in for all
flights - nicely ask a staff member when our flight is likely
to be checked in and then get in the queue regardless of
whether its your flight - just right queue - with luck and it usually works for us - you will be a front when your flight comes up and you can get rid of luggage pronto - go straight through passport control - relazx have a drink and food.
we take a bottle champagne for the queue with diposable
champagne glasses - airports are a pain but can be made
fun and easy.you will also prob get talk to some people on
your flight - you mst of course drink the champagne b4
going through security - also you are likely to have to take off
your shoes jacket etc - so wear flip flops no belts etc to get
thru security quick

I think you need to get to the airport at least 1.5 hours earlier because of all the baggage and things like that. For the extra time- you need to wait.

My family and i always get to the airport 2 hours early, in your case i would say get on the train 4 and a half hours before your flight. That way you have at least 2 hours at the airport and a half hour extra just in case.

I would aim to get there no less than 2 hours before, to allow enough time, but check the airline's website as they may have specific check-in times. If you are able to check-in online this will make things quicker at the airport, although still allow at least 2 hours - the last thing you want is to be delayed and then cut it too fine! Trust me, I've done itg before.
