The major airlines, including Qantas, Air New Zealand, British Airways, release their schedules 330 days before the date of travel.

If you're planning to depart New Zealand on May 3 and return on May 28, tickets for your trip will be available 330 days before May 28.

usually around 320 days- some airlines allow longer and some allow shorter

Qantas allow 354 days I think. It's better to wait and see when the offers come out anyway.

You lucky person, living in my favourite contry!

Most scheduled airlines only publish their schedules 11-12 months in advance. Accordingly, you won't be able to book flights on scheduled airlines more than 12 months in advance. You won't be able to book your flight before May 2008 at the earliest but it may be June 2008 before you can do so. Also be aware that scheduled airlines can change their flight timetables once published. This has happened to me a couple of times where I've started to travel but the airline has changed my flights during my travels.

Have a word with a travel agent to see if you can book a charter flight. They are more uncomfortable flights as they try to cram more people into the plane. However, package holidays are available 18 months in advance so the charter flights will also be available for these package holidays 18 months in advance.

Most airlines won't create their schedules that far ahead. You may be better off phoning them.

I think the majority of airlines only book flights to New Zealand and Australia 8 months in advance.

Depending on the airline, you can only book 6 months to a year out. It's best if you call or email the airlines to ask.

Hi there I work for BA and we now take bookings up to 365 days before departure, you would not be able to book beyond that as the airline would not have planned their opperating schedule that far in advance.

I know of no airline that will let you book more than 12 months in advance because they would not have fixed their flight schedule so far ahead. Also, your travel insurance will not cover you so far ahead in case of any cancellation.
