How fast does the average commercial jet fly?
About how fast does the avergage commercial jetliner fly? Not the top rate of speed, but rather the normal pace during flight......
Between 500 and 600 knots depending on where they're going, how much of a headwind they have to deal with, the altitude, and the amount of air traffic.
lil_caesar_08
i believe it to be around 400-500 mph
Me myself and I
its about 500mph but there not all the same

Normally cruise around 550 - 600 MPH depending on the headwind. Could go higher with a tailwind.
soccerknocker199
about 500

Googleable, but I've always heard average cruising speed is around 600 mph.
Or was it 800 mph?
Better not give me a pilot's license.
Do what I have not - GOOGLE.

About 530-570 mph. Check out Boeings website for details of all of their planes.

depends on the plane... a 747 because it is much larger requiers more speed at about 432 knots while cruising then say a 757 wich is only about 357 knots while at cruising altitude, also puddle jumpers are technicly comercial planes and go roughly 150 knots while cruising as compared to there larger jet counterparts.
