How is airbus aircraft useful to the current aviation industry and why?

Well Airbus is the name of a manufacturer of lots of different types of aircraft. If you are referring specifically to the new Airbus A380 aircraft, then the main reason it is useful is because it is so large.

It's size means that airlines can add extra capacity onto routes that are too congested to allow more frequent flights. For example, at Heathrow Airport in London, England, the airport is pretty much at full capacity in terms of the number of landing and take-off slots in use each day. So to increase capacity on flights to a very profitable airport such as this, the only way is to fly bigger planes.

Another benefit to airlines is the increased fuel efficiency of the aircraft. The new technology used on the plane makes it lighter and more fuel efficient, so not so much fuel needs to be burned during each flight, and more cargo can be carried, increasing airline profits.

Other benefits to the airlines include an ability to provide a better service than other airlines, because if they have this plane, they can offer a quieter and more spacious cabin, which passengers will prefer over other airlines on the same route which don't have the A380.

Having Airbus in business makes the aircraft manufacturing industry competitive. Therefore it challenges Boeing to come out with more comfortable aircraft that are also more fuel efficient. Having competition in the industry also forces Boeing to be more competitive in pricing otherwise they can charge a lot to the airlines. The airlines in turn would have to raise ticket prices.

This is carrying more people at less cost of fuel.It can give more comfort for long distance flyers. It inspires people and other companies to think big.

Cost effectiveness. Airbus often undercuts Boeing on price, and the equivalent planes tend to fly faster, but use more fuel.

HLW
It carries more passengers, therefore lowering the number of planes needing to fly to one destination - its more fuel efficient and its also quieter than normal planes - so less noise pollution.

Andrew
Because it allows the airline to carry more passengers on one flight, without using a lot more fuel... larger planes make it a lot more efficient.

BODGE IT AND SCARPER
Useful - because it carries more people using less fuel than a Jumbo 747.

Why, because we built it, and the Americans couldn't, or wouldn't.

URBAN SOUL
carries more passengers
uses less fuel per passenger mile.

It flys people cheaper - so they can make flying more attractive price wise. It also is more comfortable for long haul passengers - this is very good for the industry.

because they are a competitor to Boeing, so they mean Boeing can't be a monopolisitic supplier

they are forcing innovation by both Boeing and themsleves (and any other players in the civil aircraft marketplace)

they create competition for engines, so there is choice in the selection and development of engines.

Most of the above, plus it uses less landing slots. Airport capacity is measured on the amount of take-off/landing slots that are available therefore, if you fly in with a big aircraft you are effectively getting almost 2 slots for 1. Bet the landing/handling fees are huge though.

because it is cheap at 49.99 at red dot over easter weekend and flies on a mixture of methane and potato peels.

My mother has one in red... its really cool.

and it comes in 4 flavours..

It is fuel efficient, the engine is produced by Rolls Royce. And when you are talking about a Roll Royce car, you are talking about the zenith of automobile. Having 1 of its most important parts installed on a plane would just mean zenith of a plane.
The engine produces lesser carbon emissions, and produces less noise.
It carries more passenger, thus airlines can arrange more passengers in the airbus. Thus increasing cost as per fuel used.
It allows higher class of hospitality in plane as you can lie down on bed! There is even double bed. It can of course be done in the boeing, but it just seems weird for a section to be bed and another as a seat class. Having another storey would just mean more activities can be held up on air, I would not be surpirsed to see a wealthy man holds his wedding up on the air.
There are many many more, i would not say much

the benifits of devolping such an advanced aircraft will benifit the aircraft industry simply because of the technology used in its development and push future devolpments further which will benifit us,

Hi!! the main usefulness or A.B. 308 is found to be at the ordering stage when potential users can order so many variations of its interior design,ie it can be developed almost as a flying hotel for just a few passengers in extreme comfort and luxury; as an extra large bulk carrier to haul much larger loads over much longer distances. One thing that hasn`t been mentioned is a possible use as a military troop carrier with little comfort, but a lot more human storage.
An important point to note is that it is, already in service with Singapore airlines to Australia and now Londons` Heathrow airport.
I hope that this answers you Q., to your satifaction.

It carries more passengers, is more fuel effective and has more modern and up-to-date safety features. This means that the cost to the airline per passenger flown is reduced while at the same time passengers enjoy an improvement in safety.

apart from carrying more passengers it doesn't do a lot it's still creating and if not more greenhouse gasses, how long until enough people fly this airbus to compensate the fact that that planes and of course cars are mass polluters, but even the car has a hybrid how long until the aviation industry picks this up,

more people need to fly and travel so why not sort these problems now, also i don't work for greenpeace or nothing like that but it is firm belief that we are destroying the planet

Fountain of Youth
ehh to stop Boeing from having a monopoly?

i dunno lol

Barry R
cos they make aeroplanes to move people around the planet quicker than walking or horseback or by boat
