How long did it take for you to get over jet lag?

I went from (PST) to Holland a few years back... I took about 2-3 days when arriving, and 3-5 days when getting home (I think getting home took longer because I wasn't as anxious to get out and explore and visit, and also was more tired from all of the exploring and visiting!)

Oh, and by day 2 I was able to function pretty normal both ways (if tired)

Three hours changes in time zones is not a big time change and I think two weeks sounds extremely long to adjust to that change. People criss-cross the globe the whole time. If your two weeks for a three hour time change was the norm - there would be far less air travel. You definitely do not represent the norm. Your reaction is so extreme that it represents the over-sensitive individual. I suggest consulting a travel clinic physician - a general practitioner will not have the necessary expertise to adivse you.

I am used to it, the more I fly, the less it bothers me. I remember the first time I flew, I was out of sync for most of my trip. But now, when I fly, I hardly even notice it.

Jet Lag is so much worse when traveling from East to West. Going to California took me several days to get used to. But from West to East only took me like one night.

I have had the sunset problem before, it makes you feel tired. You will eventually get used to your old zone.

Florida to California (3 hour time difference) didnt give me any jet lag, but California to Thailand made me have jet lag for a few days.

I travelled to australia with my family and we stopped in singapore for 3 days. Every night we stayed in singapore we were waking up at 3am 6am and going to bed at 3pm in the afternoon, we were so jet lagged we just couldn't get used to the times. But when we finally got to Australia we weren't jet lagged at all. It all depends on where you travel to. We came to singapore from the uk which is quite a long flight. So it's quite normal to be jet lagged for a long time.

I think it really depends on how much of a regular pattern you actually sleep in. For instance, when i flew to australia - i left my local uk airport at 3pm, day 1, left heathrow at 10pm day1, landed hong kong about 7pm day 2 and landed melbourne about 8am day 3. I forced myself to stay awake until 6pm then slept through til about 10 the next day and i was adjusted. I put this down to being a student, i dont have a sleeping pattern at all - late nights clubbing then early mornings in uni for lectures, then afternoon naps and more late nights - so my body didnt have anything new to get used to.

My dad on the other hand wakes up at 7am on the dot, alarm or no alarm, this would probably cause issues if he took a long haul flight with major time difference, coz his body wakes up at 7am gmt.

I was hearing on a Vancouver radio station that sex cures jet lag.
