You can't do it non-stop yet ! Wait till next year when QANTAS introduce the A380 on the route.

Quickest at present is 1 stop at either, Bahrain, Singapore, or Hong Kong ,depending on airline.

Expect 22 hours minimum, if the winds are favourable, up to 26 hours if the wind is against you.

You can go non stop to Sydney from London in 22 hours, you get 2 hours in the airport at somewhere like Singapore, Malaysia or Hong Kong then carry on to Sydney, its a very long flight and I would recommend at least one overnights stay.

From London to Sydney about 22-23 hours, and no matter which airline there will be a stop. Depending on the airline, typical stops can include Dubai, Bangkok, Singapore or Hong Kong.

You might want to consider London to Perth in Western Australia, that is a flight of 18 hrs and 55 mins including a 1 hr 10 minute stop in Singapore. You could then start your Australian travels in the west, enjoy some time there and then catch a domestic transcontinental flight (about 4-5 hours) to the east coast.

It took us 12 hours to Bangkok , waited 3 hours for a connection ,then 9 hours to Sydney ,Best to stop on the way ,Thailand is ideal for a stopover ,We stopped over for 3 days on the way back ,liked it so much we went for 2 weeks to Thailand the following year,

In my opinion.. this are the best choices. I'm not really into the connection via HK. Via Singapore and Kuala Lumpur is a better choice.Singapore def has connections to London. The A380(Singapore Airlines - first to fly A380) starts soon SYD - SIN ..so hopefully ur the lucky one flying after Oct 25

You cannot do it non stop.

The fastest routes are 23 hours with a 1 hour refuelling stop. Have done it loads of times.

London to Hong Kong 14 hours, two hours turnaround and then Hong Kong to Kingsford 10+ hours. Returning took 28 hours because we were stuck at Kingsford for nearly three hours in an electrical storm.
I would not do it without a stopover again, too uncomfortable.

I'd stop off in Kuala Lumpur, for a few days, the flight there takes 11 hours which isn't too bad. You then have an 8 hour flight to Sydney, and it breaks up your trip a little.
