You board the aircraft 20-30 minutes prior to departure. So if you arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure time you will be waiting about 90 minutes before you board.

Depending what company you are flying with some want you at the airport 3 hours and some 2 hours before take off.Start loading about 20 mins before take off depending on size of plane. If its an holiday flight they will start loading when everyone has turned up so you can actually leave early.Make sure you are on time.

NWIP
You should be at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight is scheduled to leave. You must go through the luggage/ticket check in. After that you must go through security (including taking off your shoes, carry ons checked through x-ray), then 45 to 30 minutes before the plane is scheduled to take off you board the plane.

well u have to board plane 30 mins before departure time, and they leave on time usually, and the plane taxis for about 5 mins then take off takes 1 min, so go figuire

NozeDive
I usually get to the airport, get a weather breifing, sign out an airplane, and then file a flight plan if need be, so, about five or ten minutes...

...But then again, I'm a pilot, not a passenger.

October before last my wife and I arrived late at Heathrow for a BA flight to Prague. Check-in had closed and they'd re-sold our seats. Nevertheless the kind lady from BA upgraded us and got us on the flight. From walking into the terminal to walking onto the plane - about 20 minutes. Brilliant!

It also depends if you have a fork you don't know about in your hand luggage and whether or not they're going to take you in for questioning about it when you're late for your flight as it is.

Boarding time is usually between 60-30 minutes before departure and check-in is usually an hour or two before boarding. But some people just love to get there up to six hours early.

what?there are many variability's that render this question silly.

Elisha Rocks <3
took about 2 hours when i went to majorca in july.
you have to queue up for security and all that.
then you have to wait for the plane to be ready.

Fraser
Depends on the airport and terminal.

Arriving at my local airport 45mins before departure with checked bags is never a problem. Arriving 45mins before departure at Heathrow with checked bags would be...in economy.
