there are no non-stop flights from detroit.
you could go 3 different ways:
1. some routes that have 2 stops have lesser delays -2hours
2. some routes that have 1 stop have longer delays +5hours
3. 1 stop and very short delay, but higher ticket -30min
so it would take you 4 hours to hit LA, probably and 30 min delay, change plans, arrive hawaii 5 hours later. total flight time 11h and 14m.
*going step 1 is a flight time of over 21 hours, but cheaper. |

With a connection in LAX, approximately 11 hours. This does not include the layover time. My estimation would be somewhere around 15 hours total. But LAX is utter chaos, so you never know. |

8 hours. I did it a few years ago. straight from dtw to honolulu, no layovers or anything. Make sure you have a window seat while you go over the rockies, it's breathtaking! |
