How long should we be at the airport before the flight time?

My fiance and I are getting married in a month, and we want to fly to yellowstone for our honeymoon. Neither of us have ever flown, and we don't know anything about it. Someone told me that you need to be there a while before your flight time, to check in bags, and whatever else you have to do, but how do I know how much time. Does anyone have any idea. Thanks

Most airports and airlines want you to get there at least 2 hours before take-off. Some security lines at airports are long and take time to get thru them.

Yes-Arrive about two to three hours in advance and you will be fine. Have a great honeymoon!

You need to be at the airport at least 2 hours ahead of time.

You will need your Driver's License.

Going through Security:
Any hand lotion, lip gloss, liquid, etc. (4oz or less) must be put in a clear plastic bag (like a ziploc bag).

You will have to remove your shoes and any jacket you may have on, or with you, purse, laptop - all these things must be put in a tray (provided by Security) and they will run it through the x-ray machine.

I suggest that you put your jewelry that you are going to wear (except you wedding ring) in your purse - a lot of jewelry causes the alarm sensor to go off when you walk through Security.

Also, you cannot take any bottle water, juice, etc. through security - you must buy it in the terminal after your have past through the security checkpoint.

Something new that some people do not know about is that you cannot have loose batteries in your luggage or on you. The batteries must be in their original packaging and placed in your luggage.

Also - go to this website - it is very helpful!

CONGRATS!

90 minutes to 2 hours.

It's better to get there and sit around than to miss your flight.

Two Hours. Best of luck to you both. I am jealous. Have a wonderful time.

A minimum of two hours. Since you haven't flown, I'd suggest three hours to deal with ticketing, baggage, and security.

It's better to have extra time at the airport than to be rushing around.

Plan to be there at least 2 hours before your flight time. More if you are traveling out of a busy, international airport with a lot of traffic. The reason being, you will need to check in for your boarding passes, check you bags and go through the security check point (be sure to find out what the carry-on restrictions are before you pack! Your airline's website should have that listed). Basically, lots of waiting in lines!! Seriously, it is just better to be early than late when you are traveling. Once you get through security, you can always kick back with a cup of coffee or a cocktail until it's time to board. Good luck and have fun!!

Standard contract of carriage stipulate two hours before your flight.

You need to check-in, get through security, and be at the gate.

between 1 1/2 - 2 hours beforehand if you are flying within the US.

Whatever you do, keep out of England. Especially Terminal 5 run by those half-idiots British Airways. The flag-ship of the seriously sagging British Empire has their fill already with the Max Moxeley's, Ronn Dennis's and all the rest of English national character.

If you are in the first world, though, usually two hours before the flight is the norm, although thanks to our illiterate Muslims, this has been extended to three or four hours before the flight.
