How many days before flying can you change your ticket?
My sister is set to fly to NZ from London this thurs (it's currently monday night) and wants to change her ticket to stay much longer... like till december... how many days before can she change her ticket? Is there a cut off point? Any information would be appreciated! Cheers.
all depends on the airline and type of ticket. some cannot be changed at all or without a penalty. the ticket should say. when in doubt call the airline they can tell you for sure.

She can change her ticket all the way up to check in time at the airport. However, there will probably be a fee for making the change.

All airlines have different rules. I would find a customer service phone number for the airline that she is flying. They will be able to give you better answers to this question than anyone else would. Keep in mind that there will most likely be a charge to change the ticket.

Tell her buy a new ticket. I don't mind going for a while. It's cold in the UK:P But I don't know if you will be able to at this time. Because of their customs etc etc. Phone the airline or thomsons tomorrow. They might be able to help you much more than a 15 year old :P
Good luck and whatever happens tell her to enjoy:D

she can change her tickets before 5 hrs of actual depature dates and can also extend the dates by paying oenalty to airling so either they do the change or they do the date change and reissue the tickets for her.
penalty applies according to the airlines

She would have to call the airline to see if they have a maximum stay requirement and probably will have to pay a penalty for the change.

United Airlines revised its ticketing policy, allowing certain people traveling between the UK and United States to make one change to their itinerary without any fees, according to Reuters. The revised policies apply to people flying between Aug. 10 and Sept. 1, with tickets purchased on or before Aug. 10.
All airlines have different rules, depends on the airline and type of ticket.

Some tickets do not allow any changes at all. Some tickets will allow a change right up to check in time, but they will often charge whatever the current rate is for the new itinerary, plus a change fee. Most full-fare tickets will allow changes without any fees.
