How many of you would enjoy flying in a private aircraft?

Hiring a small 4-seat aircraft for 1hr in the UK costs circa. £100-£120. Even if you did not know the pilot well, but met him or her before your flight, would you be happy to pay 25% of the cost i.e. £25-30 per hour to go on flying trips, days out, etc. with a mate or two or even on your own.

Would you do it just as a one off or, assuming you had a fun experience, i.e. you went somewhere interesting, would you go on longer flights?

Actually, I was thinking single or twin engine propeller aircraft as opposed to private jets, mainly because at £25-£30 per hour, most people can have a go. 2hrs and you're in the Channel Islands, could be doing some aerobatics, could be learning a lot or just sitting, staring out the window

flying private planes is a BLAST. I highly recommend it. it is relatively affordable if you split the costs

you mean like a private jet, Then yes I would like that because I get to use one 42 times are year my dad has a share in one and they are amazing

cubalishus
That sounds brilliant to me, when are you going to get this business going.

That is an ace way for a group of four to travel. Certainly would beat going by road or rail and could be more direct.

Leeds to Newcastle for example by train would take 90 minutes and cost about £30 each, by air less than an hour.

That's it! I'm getting a plane!

nightowl955
Yes i would... I live in the channel islands and just paid £140 return to London for a 1 hour flight!... So yeah my answer is Yes :)

I did it as a one-off in Canada many years ago.
A friend-of-a-friend had just gotten his flying licence and was trying to get as much practice as possible so he rented a Cessna 172 (four seats) and we all shared the cost of a two hour flight over Vancouver, Whistler Mountain and part of Vancouver Island.
A very enjoyable experience. Unfortunately the pilot moved away from Vancouver shortly after.

If I had disposable income, I would use it everyday to go to a different country everyday just to buy my shopping!
