Wow, quite a variety of answers... I only saw a couple of correct ones (for the United States anyway)...
I just renewed mine, so the fees are pretty fresh on my mind. And I looked it up on http://travel.state.gov/passport just to be sure.
For ages 16 and over, the passport fee is $67. The execution fee (basically a security screening surcharge, from what I understand) is an additional $30, for a total of $97.
If you need expedited service (for travel in less than 4-6 weeks), it's an additional $60, plus any applicable overnight postage fees. I needed mine expedited. The total was $189.50.
SUMMARY: $97 for standard service, around $200 for expedited... not including passport photos (about $8 at a drug store photo lab or $15 at a post office if they offer the service).
For those who gave the correct answer, I didn't mean to steal any wind from your sails. I gave you all thumbs up. I just saw so many strange and just plain wrong answers, I wanted to clarify for the benefit of the asker. |
