How much does the airport charge to carry extra luggage....?

When I move overseas I have to take everything I can't live with out on the plane with me because it is way to expensive to ship it. So how much does it cost (or an around about figure) to take extra luggage?

The airport doesn't levy surplus baggage charges, it's the airline. And every airline is different, so you'll just have to contact the airline you are travelling on.

Every airline is different. One option is to use an excess baggage shipping company if you don't mind packing that stuff a couple days early. xsbaggage.com has a couple options for that. They have door to door delivery as well as depots at many airports to drop extra bags/boxes off before the flight. Its usually cheaper than the airlines and faster than normal shipping. Try to plan a couple days in advance so they can get the paperwork done.

I found it will a whole cheaper if you mail some of your belongings
instead of biringing eveything on the flight remeber the nsa will have check eveything before be loaded on the plane.

Each airline is different, today I know that a passenger paid $45.00 for being 2.5 pounds over, as for the one person who paid for the animal, those are totally different, animals you pay for the size of carrier plus weight. Anyways, I'd call your airline and find out, the last time I flew overseas was a few years ago and they allowed 70 or 75 pounds, my two suitcases were packed full and didn't weigh that much, I could have taken more.

Depends on how much it weighs honey.

It's a lot of money...you might want to consider sending it as cargo which is still a lot of money but might be cheaper for you.

generally around $40-50 US, but it depends on how much over it weighs (once I paid $340 for my dog)
