How much weight can you carry on a plane?

How much weight can you put in as baggage on a plane? (Either British Airways or Olympic Airlines) I'm planning on taking 2 computers and a suitcase with a combined weight of about 45 Kilos and I need to know whether or not there is a limit. I know that if I go over 23 kilos I have to pay but I just need to know if they will stop me taking over an amount no matter how much I pay.

British says won't accept single bag over 32kgs, so you'll have to spread the items over more than one bag. This is checked baggage only. Info on hand baggage should be on same site

it depends what plane?

Weight does not matter when you are carrying ...It is the size..You must be able to put it under the seat or the overhead compartment....

regardless of what u bring on, u can usu ONLY bring on 1 small bag and 1 wheeling / duffle type / larger suitcase to a max height of 22 inches. if u dont know inches.. multiply inches x 2.54 = cm! so just make sure it all FITS in those 2 bags. american carriers are alot more lenient than european carriers. often there is a total limit to the weight u can carry on. when i flew lovely Qantas from australia to LA half year ago they made me check my 22 " rolling suitcase (which ameican carriers ALWAYs let me carryon), because they allowed me only a ridiculous 7 kilos. and what's more is it was the security screening person who made me go back to the counter and check it. he didnt care who i was or what my excuse / story was. bottomline: be prepared to have to check at least one of those bags if the darn security finds it
'too cumbersome' to bring it onboard. if u have already checked ur allowance of 2 bags, yes, u will have to pay.. sometimes for EXCESS weight AND excess piece of bag. fancy that! up to $250 easily. can u put both computers in ONE big backpack/ computer style bag? u'd be SMART to do so rather than risk it. that's the thing of course we should never check... if nothing else... the computer.

Im sure exceptions can always be made as long as you are willing to pay. If they do try to stop you from taking a very heavy suitcase, just buy another one at the airport and divide them in half. I know last time I traveled it was much much heavier than when i started and it wasnt a problem. Sounds like you need to just call them and find out exactly how far you can push the limit. Good luck!

As far as you are willing to pay for the extra they can allow as much as you want.
The charges on extra baggage are very costlier..
