All the normal carry on restrictions (no guns, knives, explosives, nail files, etc.), plus no liquids except for travel-size toiletries of no more than 3 oz. per container in a single 1-quart resealable plastic bag. It was no liquids at all for a while, but they changed it a week or two ago. You're still not allowed to bring any beverages through security, but you're now allowed to carry on drinks you buy inside security (you weren't even allowed to do that for a while). I'd recommend bringing an empty water bottle and filling it once you get past security (buying a water bottle at the airport is expensive, and they don't bring drinks very often on the plane).

You're allowed the normal one carry-on bag plus one personal item. However, they're still checking pretty carefully, so just in the interest of time and convenience you'd do well to either pack extremely lightly or check a bag.

ur only going on to a conference for 2 days so you should carry toiletries such as deodarant, perfume, a couple of suits, hair products, shaving razor if needed, a pair of sweat pants, and tshirt, and a clubbing outfit just in case you go out. Oh yea how can i forget shoes (3 pairs) a flat pair, stiletto, and a comfy pair of shoes/sneakers.

If you mean Louisiana it's a bit chilly here right now. The nights are down around the 50's but the days are in the 70's. It's tees and Capri's during the day and sweats and sweaters at night around an outside fire pit!

I learned, even before 911, when you get in the security line take off your jacket and shoes...belt if you have one...everything out of your pockets. Take your laptop out for them to swab it and stick your cell in one of the little baskets, too. Individual size stuff only should be enough for your two day trip. Don't bring anything they can consider a weapon...this list changes from day to day and can include anything from a lighter to a leaf blower depending on what time of day you show up.

Have a great trip and don't let the security at the airport bum you too much. If you do it a couple times it becomes second nature and you don't even mind getting undressed in front of 100 people because they all have to do the same thing, too.

bring things that match other stuff so you can mix them up so you look different.

and maybe a bathing suit too

You CANNOT have any type of liquids in your carry-on's. In the luggage you check is fine. Trust me they took my $150 bottle of perfume that was in my purse 3/4 full and my lip gloss! I was soooo pissed the security chick was like "Wow this smells really good" I was thinking yeah biitch now you got a $150 perfume for free better f'in enjoy it! So mad! But NE way my vacation to Lake Tahoe and Napa Valley was really splendid. :)
