yes, they have every right to open the box through scanning if they question that something could be in there that isn't safe. i dunno about american airports all that much but canadian ones are prettyyyy tight.

The cell phone is made of metal, so you cannot take it through the metal detector with you. You can, however, put it with all your other carry on belongings and it will go through the x-ray machine. This will be fine for it.

They might make you open it and turn it on to prove that it is real. I used to work at an airport. One day i had to walk through the terminals and go through security to get to where I was going. Any way I had my cell phone and it was off. They made me turn it to prove that it was real.

No they won't, unless you try to sneak something on the plane that you're not supposed to.

If the scan pick something dangerous they need to check it but I think that its should be okay for your cellphone. They also could use an X-ray machine to see through objects.

yah their going to open the box. its very tight. and if u bring liquid stuff (lotion ect) it has to be a certain size or u have to throw it or send it back
