Try chewing bubble gum! |
|

woot!!

it doesnt stop the ears popping but it will bring them back to normal if you hold your nose with your mouth closed and blow if your going down and suck if your going up |

Several ways:
agressively chewing gum and frequent swallowing of saliva.
Get the special ear plugs that help air flow for flying....about $4 dollars from your drug or department store.
For descent, get 2 plastic cups and insert very damp but not dripping cloths or paper towels that have been soaked in very hot water. Flight attendants in galley can provide these quicly and easily, using very hot water that they use to prepare tea. Hold tightly over ears when you sense problem is starting during descent.
Another thing that really helps is to use a nasal spray like Otrivin about 45 minutes before descent.
To better protect your hearing, have your doctor/nurse/clinic look inside to ensure there is not excessive wax build-up, which would prevent normal equalization of air pressure in the eustacian tube. If there is, have them remove it or get a kit from your pharmacist. |

EarPlanes - can be bought at the drugstore or magellans.com. Each pair is good for one round trip. Put them in before you depart and again before you descend. Try "blowing" your nose w/your mouth closed to make them pop - Free! |

ok this happens to me so bad, that one time it wouldnt unpop for hours after I got off the plane, it hurt so bad. They said take Something like Sudafed, I think it is similar to decongestent. So your ears and sinus cavities are empty. It worked for me last time I think I took Contact |

If chewing bubblegum and taking Sudafed or a decongestant doesnt work, try constantly yawning, once you yawn the first time you can continue untill you are in the air and have leveled off, and opening your mouth and sort of faking a yawn works as well, it worked for me. |
