Expedia is the only online site I know of that issues paper tickets. The airline I work for actually charges $25 if you want a paper ticket. An electronic ticket can be printed on your home computer the day you are flying, you actually check in online at the airlines website (most airlines I know offer this). If you will be checking bags, this is not worth it. If you are sent a paper ticket BRING IT WITH YOU! You cannot fly without it. Also you are not checked in, so you will still have to check in at the airport.

Almost all tickets are electronic; the only paper is the boarding pass you get at the airport

Well, recently, www.delta.com started issuing boarding pass with the bar code that you print at home. I like their web site because you can even choose your seat and see what type of aircraft.

You can book online tickets to which ever place you would like to fly. There are two types of tickets. One is the normal tickets and the other is printable tickets which can be sent to you by mail. If it is a normal one which is also called a paper ticket, you must go to the specific airline and take the ticket. Or else, it will be sent thru courier. The site to book online tickets is www.alwaseettravel.com.

You book it online, then go to a kiosk at the airline counter to print out the pass. All airlines are going paperless.

Instead I explain you the whole procedure as to how to book online ticket - I think reading would be more easy -
There are airlines that allow e-tickets, yes the printable ones from home. To book online, go to their website.
Good thing about etickets: if you lose it, no worries, just go to the counter at the airport and tell them you lost the printed version and give em your name and they should be able to take care of it, provided that you show enough identification.
